I am very honored that Zone is currently on view at the Keramikmuseum Westerwald @keramikmuseumwesterwald as part of my graduation exhibition.
The work was developed and realized at the IKKG – Institute for Ceramic and Glass Art. @ikkg_art_institute @ikkg.art_students
My sincere thanks to Prof. Markus Karstieß @markus.karstiess and Prof. Jens Gussek for their guidance and support throughout the development of this work, and to Masami Hirohata @masami_hirohata for the realization of the glass elements and technical implementation.

Alle Informationen dazu finden Sie hier: @natur.kultur.keramik

Under the Threat of Absence“.

📍 04.07.2026
📍 Montabaur · Höhr-Grenzhausen · Neuwied

Persian Lustre ware is a technique that results in making a metal layer with a metallic glow and iridescence in different colors such as gold, red, orange, yellow, amber, silver and copper on a previously-glazed. In this technique after the first firing of the glaze, a thin layer of different compounds of silver and copper are placed on the pre-made glaze, along with the ocher, which after being reheated in the absence of Oxygen, molecular breakdown of the above metal compounds occur during reduction, a thin metal film is left on the surface of the glaze, which after cooling, polishing and cleaning it, Lustre ware appears in the form of metallic glow or a rainbow like form. The type of Lustre ware color produced may vary based on the combination of pigments, the amount and duration of revival, and the length of cooling period.
