A couple of days before my Birthday, a question came up. Are you happy? It gave me so much to reflect on. This past year has shown me the importance of myself. Taking care of me. Showing up for me. Loving up on me. It’s shown me how surrounded I am by love. From others, from my ancestors, from God, from life. And while it hasn’t always been easy, I’m truly grateful. Wow! Now that I finally have a minute after the wedding, I have to take a moment and share these beautiful photos - 📸 @nickrezendesphotography Of my little Sister’s wedding to her BEST FRIEND!! I am so proud of these two and the way they’ve grown over the years. To be witness my Sister become the strong, determined, intelligent young woman she is right now makes me so happy. I am so grateful they found each other. They lift each other up, support one another, and pour themselves into what they want for their lives. As you can tell in one slide, they’ve been laughing with each other a long time. This celebration of their union was the perfect way to feel the LOVE on a New Moon! I have been blessed to have the most AMAZING MOTHER I could ever ask for. Her unconditional love and support continues to grow me. I know a Mother’s Love from other AMAZING WOMEN as well. Because of that, this first Mother’s Day as a Mother to my daughter is beyond surreal. To one of my Life Partners. The immense awe I have in your strength, determination, and willpower. Thank you thank you thank you! Grateful to share this journey with you in any way! Watching her bring our daughter from the other realm to this realm changed my life. Photos from my new album release. Coming soon..... Hahaha nah but I have been on this thing where I put myself out there. Not only my best foot, both feet. All me. It’s been interesting. Gives me anxiety and yet excites me. I actually was singing in some of these. And yes I do have a voice. Maybe one day I will record an album. It would be confusing as fuck tho. From one Salsa song, to some ballads, my favorite Christmas songs (maybe a Christmas album), An Indian inspired track , and one where every other word would have to be bleeped out if you didn’t buy the Explicit Version. #rp @theveryblackproject What’s funny is this song is only relevant now because 2017 was like up/down/insideout. I felt so stressed. So crazy. So not myself. But my ass is happy NOW. Now that I see how these lessons have been the biggest blessings I’ve received in a long time. Happy that my ass could sit long enough to hear them. Happy that I have my damn life.
