Grateful for a Night of Poetry & Community

Tonight’s poetry open mic at our favorite bookstore @booksandbooks was nothing short of magical. Huge shoutout to all the talented poets and artists who stepped up to the mic and shared their words, their hearts, and their truth. The energy in the room was electric—stories unfolded, verses flowed, and we all held space for each other in the most beautiful way.

Thank you for making this a safe and welcoming space for expression, connection, and creativity. If you missed it, don’t worry—the next open mic is happening on Thursday, April 17. Mark your calendars, bring your words, and let’s do it all over again!

See you next time! #PoetryCommunity #OpenMicNights #SpokenWord #thebiscaynepoet #miami

Wow!

On this Ose #Ifà/#Èṣù/#Yemọja/#Osun/#Ajé, I give Thanks for seeing me through to #Isegun.

Where one may struggle, the joys are infinite.

Oosa - THANK YOU! Letting me know patience is peace.

Despite all that transpired, I have reclaimed my joy.

I Thank myself for being able to come from almost rock bottom (#Orisa, #Egúngún, #Olodumare, #Ela, and #Egbé will not let me hit rock bottom) to have a stronger foundation.

Got to experience myself in a whole different light, which brought an even closer group of people to me. I Love Y'all immensely.

It shows in my friendships, family (my Ile, @ifa_otito_ile_aye and my blood family). I Love Y'all!

Lesssgooo!!

When I tell you last night was everything.

I'm a HUGE @hiatuskaiyote fan and even met @artykarateparty years ago at a party in Brooklyn (such a sweetheart. I'll never forget it and on my birthday) ❤️

And the fact that they acknowledged the land that they are on and are from...👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I went solo and end up running into @minafofina (Warmest Birthday wishes, sib. So proud of you and your journey)! Everything happens for a reason.

I was playing 'Rose Water' while on my way there and to hear it open up the show on the #FullMooninAquarius was everything.

Fav tracks in slides: The Lung, Nakamura (can we get this version?!), Rose Water, The World it Softly Lulls, Building a Ladder (Drake sampled this song. You're welcome), Stone and Lavender (had me in pure tears. Got me through a lot during the shutdown), and so many others.

Thankful for music.

Check out their tiny desk and see them live!

Thanks for the tag sis @dancinstarrlet We are BLACK WOMEN!.... We build.... We don’t tear down other BLACK WOMEN!.... We have felt the pain of being torn down and we decided we will deliberate about building others! All too often, we women find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let’s do something positive ✨. Upload one picture of yourself...ONLY you. Then tag as many sisters to do the same. Let’s build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 COPY & PASTE ! If I tagged you, don’t disappoint me ♥️.

This weekend I had my sacred sister @minafofina come to delaware from #nyc to take my #IntuitiveDoulaTraining and a well deserved getaway from a loud city. I welcomed her into my sanctuary to for a chance to learn the role and duty of a #Doula who serves from a more spiritual perspective as apose to a clinical perspective. I believe more of us will be called to encourage home births and as independent doulas getting our mind ready, our soul aligned, and our business in order is the only way we will be able to harmoniously serve our community. ~ #YtheG -
@minafofina will soon be serving NYC as a Doula 🤰🏾
