As of March 20th @ 7:47pm, she is 46!

There’s been too much noise out there…you all know what I mean, regardless of your beliefs.

That’s why I made a solid effort to gift myself to some peace and quiet.

That looked like enjoying (more like indulging in) “little” things this wonderful city has to offer until the end of March. Check out some that peace and quiet.

Hope you all continue to get out and enjoy the big and little things around you and beyond.

Cheers to another year ✌🏾

Another sports is like life moment…

Running reflections: 6 (six) lessons learned from training for an ultra distance (paddle race)

1. The lessons learned from training also apply to the rest of your life
2. Having a ‘Why’ keeps you committed
3. You ‘Why’ will change - an it’s okay! That’s life!
4. Failure is part of the process - I wish my parents made that okay for me
5. Failure is a massive cheat code - the lessons from it are how you succeed!
6. If you want a “hack” rest - no foam rolling or cross training or “active rest”. Like rest, sleep, be still…you need to recover and get strong.

Thinking of my friends, brothers, and sisters digging out from the nor’easter. Enjoy your day y’all. 🙏🏾

And and yes, I still hate running - but I’m also starting to enjoy it again.

Cheers to growth.

Another sports is like life moment…

I started running (again) because, generally speaking, I want to improve as an endurance athlete.

And to be honest…I hate running - right now.

It’s hard. Like, really hard.

But it won’t be hard forever.

In an instant coffee, I-want-it-now, society, it is important to remember growth takes time.

After all, it took me 4 years to be able to run that half marathon in 1 hour and 37 minutes.

Taking it deeper, I’m reminding myself that growth is about becoming the person that can and perhaps will accomplish the goal.

🫶🏾

First post in over a year! Thought I’d take you paddling with me. We’ll talk money later. Enjoy!

Update: I was wearing a life vest. The one attached to the paddle board was there, just in case someone or some being (including a dog) needed one. by @mindfullychioma

Because you are in business.

Because you are a business owner.

And because you have a business to run.

Never apologize for that.

In this podcast episode, I discuss in greater detail the benefits of doing your bookkeeping.

Wow…talk about a long pause between posts!

Sorry about that!

Let’s talk about what’s great about social media (for me, it’s Instagram).

First, I absolutely LOVE that I have the ability to connect to people outside of my time zone and country.

LOVE!!!

I’ve learned so much, seen so much, and now pursue more than what I knew was possible.

For example:
I’ve expanded my love for cooking thanks to the amazing accounts sharing their love for food, and specifically, food in their region.

I found my perfect yoga (yet not so yoga in the stereotypical sense) teacher, online. Thanks to her I am learning to handstand with confidence and have improved my overall fitness…which leads me to…

Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP)…I learned about this amazing crew and universe through social media. This is something that is in my own city.

Speaking of, social media has helped me appreciate my city so much more.

We often hear about the dark side of social media.

I for sure contributed to that conversation.

However, there is also a BIG bright side to social media.

That bright side has absolutely helped me up my “A” game.

Now, what about you?

What do you love about social media?

Cheers to your prosperity!

I feel pressured to be an influencer.

I feel like I need to regularly create viral posts and reels in order for that same content to be seen and acknowledged by the algorithm…so that that same content can then be seen by you.

And then there is this new expectation to obtain brand deals and sponsorships because either option apparently validates my expertise as an accountant.

…not my advanced degrees, certificates, continuing education, and experience, which includes running an accounting department.

…brand deals and sponsorships…

Sigh...

Here’s more of my truth:

I am not an influencer.

I am a business owner, first.

That means I don’t ever have to be popular or seek brand deals because that is not my business.

Helping my clients keep more of their hard-earned money is.

…and no, that is not a tagline. That’s really what I do.

In the episode, I discuss the differences between an influencer and a business owner.

In the next post, I’ll share what I love about Instagram.

And I really do love Instagram...when I don't use it for business :)

So yea…I have not really been posting here, as much.

That’s because I am not sure where I stand with Instagram and other forms of social media, despite recording this episode a few months ago.

Correction: Not sure where I stand with Instagram and other forms of social media, as a business owner.

The algorithm changes, not seeing my favorite accounts, and generally being so done with seeing a few things (showing off launch numbers and bank accounts to validate one’s coaching program) really had (and still has) me thinking I should spend my time elsewhere.

Also, my core business DOES NOT come from Instagram.

So why am I giving it so much time, effort, and energy?

Then it occurred to me…could it be the way I (and we) use this platform?

Are we the ones encouraging Instagram to be “this way”?

Welcome to “Season 2” of the podcast where I begin by asking, “Is Instagram really the problem? Or is it the way we use it?”

Let’s explore the question in the episode.

Cheers to your prosperity!

This episode is an important one, as it is a great way to start 2023.

It is also different from my “typical”, however, it being 'different' is exactly what I love about it.

It is an episode about me reflecting on my actions and taking responsibility for the harm I have done to others.

Summer of 2022, I listened to an amazing episode by @theconnectedyogateacher called ‘Kicked Out of a Yoga Class?!’

I too had been kicked out of a yoga class and quickly listened to the episode because I was so happy to hear others speak up about some of the shadows within yoga.

What I did not expect was for me to realize how I too contributed to those shadows.

This podcast episode is an audio version of the video feedback to Shannon Crow, of The Connect Yoga Teacher, sharing how I caused harm in the classes I taught…including how I justified that harm.

I also share my story of being kicked out of a yoga class.

While she graciously called me brave, I’d say I was finally willing to be a grown-up rather than a little girl.

I hope this episode serves you.

Happy New Year to all of you and cheers to your prosperity!

I know I have been derailed when I feel frustrated. Leading up to that feeling of frustration I sense something is...off. That sensation is often felt in my gut. That gut feeling as some would say...

The beautiful question in the post was asked in The Twelfth House podcast (Ep: Mindful Money Frameworks for Squiggly-Brained Intuitives), by @holisticism . If you have not had a chance to listen to the episode, or to listen again, please click the link in my bio.

Feel free to share your answer to the post in the comments.

Happy Wednesday and cheers to your prosperity!

I learned a new word.

That word is ReRaw (pronounced ree-rah).

It is short for Real and Raw, two words the sweet and amazing Wallis and Michelle of @holisticism (The Twelfth House Podcast) used to describe this episode.

This episode is special because it really humanizes the finances and all the things that come with it.

We also speak about:

💵The fear of working with a finance professional and the perception of them being unrelatable because we assume they have never experience financial struggle. – Hahaha!! Please let my story blow that perception out of the water.

💶How to get clear on what your money is for and why you should do it.

💷Profit First – We are huge fans of it.

And I just had to highlight Michelle’s OUTSTANDING explanation of why Profit First or, in general, having a financial system, sets you up for success.

To listen to the full episode please connect with @holisticism and click the link in my bio.

Cheers!
