We raised funds, awarness and sparked many conversations and It was so lovely to all come together.

MATCH REPORT🚀

A 5–1 victory, but Taunton certainly made us work for it! 🔥⚽

It was a lot of huff and puff from both teams as we exchanged early blows. Taunton could have gone in front very early on, but Kirsty did brilliantly to put pressure on their winger and the resulting cross evaded her.

We then ramped up the pressure as the game became stop-start, with injuries and exhaustion taking their toll on both sides. We were banging on the door, with two efforts cleared off the line and their keeper pulling off some excellent saves. But after a relentless 10-minute spell of pressure, Becky swung in a perfect corner and the ball nestled in the back of the net! ⚽

It was just reward for our efforts, and we were happy to regroup at half-time for a well-earned rest.

The second half had barely started when Sherise pulled another worldie out of the bag to smash home our second!

Taunton hit back with a penalty, but Tiff’s dancing feet restored our two-goal advantage with a fantastically worked third.

As our opponents began to tire, Sherise grabbed her second of the game before the tireless Becky, who had said just 30 seconds earlier that she couldn’t move anymore, went on a run to round things off and complete a fantastic 5–1 victory!

A well-deserved win, built on an imperious performance from our back five. Abbie, Loz, Boz, Bell and Kirsty were all outstanding, each putting in a 9/10 performance. Boz just pipped it. It would have been a 10/10 if that header had gone in!

An absolute masterclass in winning the ball, covering and defending. Fully deserved Player of the Match for Boz🏆

Well done, everyone. What a team this is!

🩷🖤 HIGHBURN ATHLETIC LADIES vs @crewkerneladiesfootball ⚽️

Today was about more than just football. 💙

As we took to the pitch against Crewkerne, we were incredibly proud to wear our blue @mindinsomerset armbands in support of World Mental Health Day. 💙

Football is more than just 90 minutes on a pitch. It’s friendship, support, belonging and having a team around you when you need it most. 🫶

A reminder that behind every shirt is a person, and that checking in on your teammates, friends and loved ones can make all the difference.

💚 SHOW STIGMA THE RED CARD 🟦

A captain’s voice matters. On and off the pitch.

Yesterday, First Team captain Will Emery wore the blue armband in support of @mindinsomerset Show Stigma the Red Card campaign, helping raise awareness around mental health and the importance of speaking up.

We’re proud of Will for leading by example.

Tunley might be a small football club, but we’re a community. We look after each other, and sometimes the most important thing you can do for a teammate, friend or family member is simply ask how they’re doing. And listen.

We’re proud to support Mind in Somerset and the work they do across our county.

Nobody should have to struggle alone. 💚

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day and we’re showing stigma the red card. 🟥

Our campaign, Show Stigma The Red Card, is about raising awareness, starting conversations and reminding everyone that it’s OK not to be OK. We need to talk more, listen without judgement and make it easier to reach out for support.

We’ll be at Taunton Town’s ground for tomorrow’s match against Hanwell Town, where players and staff from both teams, along with ground staff, will be taking part by buying and wearing our campaign bands.
Want to show your support? Come and find us at our stall to buy a band for £5. Every penny will go towards running Mind in Somerset’s much-needed services.

A huge thank you to Francis Clark, who generously purchased all the bands and is sponsoring the event. ❤️

Let’s start the conversation and show stigma the red card.

CLEVEDON TOWN FC PROUDLY SUPPORTS MIND IN SOMERSET💙

Tomorrow, Clevedon Town FC will proudly wear the Mind in Somerset armband, showing our support for an incredible charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing across our community.

Football is about so much more than 90 minutes on a Saturday. It brings people together, creates friendships, builds confidence and provides a sense of belonging. But behind every player, coach, supporter and volunteer is someone who may be facing challenges we cannot always see.

At Clevedon Town, we believe that mental health is every bit as important as physical health, and nobody should ever feel they have to face difficult times alone.

Mind in Somerset plays a vital role in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, providing advice, understanding and a place to turn when it matters most.

As we continue building a football club that puts its community at the heart of everything we do, supporting organisations like Mind in Somerset is incredibly important to us.

By wearing these armbands, we hope to raise awareness, break down stigma and encourage people to talk, listen and support one another.

It’s okay not to be okay, and asking for help is a sign of strength.

In July next year 15 of us are taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge, attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.

We’re aiming to raise £8,000 for Mind in Somerset.

In 2020 I lost my best mate. In the period afterwards, I remember calling Mind in Somerset because I was struggling with moments where I felt like I was seeing him everywhere, even though I knew he was gone.

They were there when I needed someone to speak to and that has always stayed with me.

Since then I’ve tried to use challenges like this to raise money in his memory and supporting an organisation that helped me personally means a lot.

It’ll be a tough 24 hours but we’ve got a great group doing it.

If anyone can donate or share the page I would really appreciate it. 💙
