Somerset Speak Their Name is a quilting project that commemorates loved ones who have died by suicide. We were very touched to see how many people have been adding their own dedications by writing notes on the tags and tying them to the frame. The tags are in a basket beside the work for visitors to write on.

MATCH REPORT🚀

A 5–1 victory, but Taunton certainly made us work for it! 🔥⚽

It was a lot of huff and puff from both teams as we exchanged early blows. Taunton could have gone in front very early on, but Kirsty did brilliantly to put pressure on their winger and the resulting cross evaded her.

We then ramped up the pressure as the game became stop-start, with injuries and exhaustion taking their toll on both sides. We were banging on the door, with two efforts cleared off the line and their keeper pulling off some excellent saves. But after a relentless 10-minute spell of pressure, Becky swung in a perfect corner and the ball nestled in the back of the net! ⚽

It was just reward for our efforts, and we were happy to regroup at half-time for a well-earned rest.

The second half had barely started when Sherise pulled another worldie out of the bag to smash home our second!

Taunton hit back with a penalty, but Tiff’s dancing feet restored our two-goal advantage with a fantastically worked third.

As our opponents began to tire, Sherise grabbed her second of the game before the tireless Becky, who had said just 30 seconds earlier that she couldn’t move anymore, went on a run to round things off and complete a fantastic 5–1 victory!

A well-deserved win, built on an imperious performance from our back five. Abbie, Loz, Boz, Bell and Kirsty were all outstanding, each putting in a 9/10 performance. Boz just pipped it. It would have been a 10/10 if that header had gone in!

An absolute masterclass in winning the ball, covering and defending. Fully deserved Player of the Match for Boz🏆

Well done, everyone. What a team this is!

Today was about more than just football. 💙

As we took to the pitch against Crewkerne, we were incredibly proud to wear our blue @mindinsomerset armbands in support of World Mental Health Day. 💙

Football is more than just 90 minutes on a pitch. It’s friendship, support, belonging and having a team around you when you need it most. 🫶

A reminder that behind every shirt is a person, and that checking in on your teammates, friends and loved ones can make all the difference.

It’s okay not to be okay. You are never alone. 💙

💚 SHOW STIGMA THE RED CARD 🟦

A captain’s voice matters. On and off the pitch.

Yesterday, First Team captain Will Emery wore the blue armband in support of @mindinsomerset Show Stigma the Red Card campaign, helping raise awareness around mental health and the importance of speaking up.

We’re proud of Will for leading by example.

Tunley might be a small football club, but we’re a community. We look after each other, and sometimes the most important thing you can do for a teammate, friend or family member is simply ask how they’re doing. And listen.

We’re proud to support Mind in Somerset and the work they do across our county.

Nobody should have to struggle alone. 💚

Running isn’t just good for my body, it’s good for my mind too.

It gives me time to clear my head, switch off from the noise, and focus on myself. Every run reminds me that I’m capable of more than I think, and that progress comes one step at a time.

Some days I run to get fitter, other days I run for my mental health. Either way, I always come back feeling better. 🤍

💚 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴.

Today is 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆, a reminder that looking after our mental health is every bit as important as looking after our physical health.

At Portishead Town, football is about so much more than results, league tables and what happens on the pitch.

It's about friendship. It's about belonging. It's about being part of something.

From our youngest juniors to our senior teams, walking football groups, volunteers and supporters, our club brings people together from all walks of life.

For some, football is an opportunity to play the game they love. For others, it's a chance to get out of the house, meet friends, share a laugh, have a conversation or simply feel part of a community.

And sometimes, those little things can make a bigger difference than we realise.

We all face challenges, many of which aren't visible to those around us. A friendly face, a conversation or simply asking someone how they're doing can mean so much.

So today, and every day, let's look out for one another. Let's listen, let's talk and let's make sure nobody feels they have to face life's challenges alone.

This morning, some of our South West members came together for our Mind Big Brunch to mark World Mental Health Day. 🤍

Over delicious pastries and a cuppa, we shared conversations about mental health, listened to one another and made space for those who wanted to share their experiences.

A gentle reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health, and that we all deserve kindness, understanding and time to look after ourselves.

Life doesn’t always feel easy, and everyone’s experiences are different. Whether it’s talking to someone, taking a moment to pause or simply getting through the day, there’s no right or wrong way to look after yourself. Be gentle with yourself and celebrate the little things, too. 🤍

At Boozy Books, we’re about more than the books we read. We’re about connection, friendship and creating a welcoming space where everyone feels accepted — whether you’re sharing your latest read or something a little more personal.
