Gold from more than a foot down.

On a recent trip to Much Wenlock, Shropshire, Ricky Fletcher, AKA Redvan Ric, recovered this large gold band with a diamond using his MANTICORE.

Sitting well over a foot deep, the ring gave Ric a sharper high tone worth investigating.

Also among Ricky’s finds was a Georgius Rex trade weight.

And they just kept coming.

Detecting in the garden of a house dating back to the 1700s in Northern Ireland, Ryan Doherty hit a pocket spill containing 15 coins from the 1940s, with a mix of Irish and English coins emerging from the ground.

For Ryan, though, the best part wasn’t simply the number of coins.

His daughter was there to share the moment as one coin after another appeared, turning a great detecting find into a memory they’ll both take home with them.

An Amsterdam maker's mark on a Thames find.

Mudlarker Joe Allen recovered this Dutch pewter spoon from the Thames foreshore in London, using his MANTICORE with the 8” coil.

Made in Amsterdam, the spoon carries a kleine keur maker's mark, although the maker remains unidentified.

An interesting glimpse into the objects that found their way to London over the centuries.

A weekend that showed the detecting community at its best.

Minelab was proud to support the recent Digging History weekend at the Cavalier Centre in Shropshire, UK.

The event brought detectorists together for a weekend in the field while supporting the Centre’s work, with an incredible £12,500 raised.

Thanks to Martin Stokes, the Digging History team and everyone who took part.

First signal in the field.

Richard had barely started detecting at the Coil to the Soil Rally in Berwick-upon-Tweed when his MANTICORE produced this Bronze Age gold ring money.

He was running the MANTICORE on its stock settings when the find came up.

Quite a way to start the day.

On a recent midweek group dig in Lincolnshire, Ricky Fletcher, AKA Redvan Ric, uncovered this Henry II silver hammered cut half with his MANTICORE, dating from 1158–1180.
