So proud of getting to paint this hero mural for Disney+ #Ahsoka Creating different textures, using mixed media to get that sketchy outline look, and the golden starburst lines were my favorite parts of the mural. Faithfully translating an animated mural to live action (with tweaks) is no joke and I could not have done it without @abandonlosangeles @chloe.e.paints and Ed Hanley. Thanks you to Ahsoka’s lead painter John Risso and production designer Andrew L. Jones for trusting me! #sabine #tanotuesday #muralart taken in Hollywood by @miriamhellmann

“New Pioneers” binoculars mural in Downtown LA. I love creating site specific artwork. The windows on this building created a challenge which I overcame by using the window glass as part of the art. Follow my mural account @offwrldmurals to see more mural work

What an absolute privilege to get to assist @jimivieira and @artdog13 painting the iconic “Blue Sky Tank” as a permanent mural @paramountpics This type of training is literally priceless and I’m so grateful to learn. It was so hot the paint would constantly clog in the guns and the hoses, so thanks to @_ruckerric_ and Antonio for constantly cleaning them, straining paint, and keeping everything organized. Without them the entire job would’ve fallen apart! Thanks to Leonard Russo at the sign shop and Paul Mangione for getting us set up. Pablo @artdog13 actually painted the sky in the 90’s with his mentor for Stuart Little. This sky backdrop has been used in such shows and movies as The Truman Show, The Ten Commandments, Cheers, and most recently Lanterns. Storyboard concepts for an animation sequence explaining Zoe’s backstory in @greenlantern The scene was cut, but the trust and collaboration from director @geetavpatel was a deeply meaningful experience for me as a below the line artist. These are rough mood concepts for a non-traditional storyboard, not finished drawings! I was inspired to experiment with creating stop motion charcoal drawings which I had never tried before but greatly enjoyed. Because they wanted the scene to be in the form of John’s drawings I had the idea to loosely animate them. It was fun to immerse myself in these extremely dark scenes exploring the Manhunter’s merciless programming while also showing Zoe’s remorse. Some of the scenes included here are: the fear gas emanating from Zoe’s eyes and its deadly effects in the falling bodies, the guardians coming to get Zoe, Zoe being created by the guardians, a scene showing the passage of time through her walking and her shadow showing some of the many different forms she has taken, Zoe left alone after the fear gas destroys the planet, and Abin Sur’s Spaceship crashing on earth #stopmotion #charcoal #manhunter #lanterns by @miriamhellmann

Just a few of the alternate drawings of Zoe @poornagraphy for @greenlantern (not kidding there were way more) Ultimately we landed on the right one and it was a journey to get there, in the best way. But for a while my room was looking like all it was missing was some red string #charcoal #lanterns by @miriamhellmann

A small selection of the many, many portraits I drew for @greenlantern including a portrait of John’s father played by @j_fonz Some were random portraits for background dressing, and some were for scenes that were cut - for example in Episode 3 there was an art class and we drew the model from all different angles. @greenlantern Ep3 Outkast drawings. This was a super fun day on set, we ended up drawing John’s mom on the day. I really enjoyed working with director Stephen Willams. I made a variety of different drawings of the building, in portrait and landscape and in various stages of drawing.
