Memories from the incredible experience on East of Eden and the beautiful New Zealand, where coincidentally I had a chance to reconnect with Brenton on his first ever live music show.
This 7 parts series is now showing on @netflixanz and is one of its kind.

This is one of the most magnificent experiences I was blessed to be part of. The audition felt right, but decisions take time and we tend to forget we did them… until that second call from the agent comes…. And what a surprise this was. East of Eden will be released on @netflix tomorrow, a 7 episodes series featuring @florencepugh and a stellar cast, including many Australian talents.
I could talk so much about the pleasure of working with the NZ, US AND AUS crews involved in this project, but I’ll keep it short and invite everyone to see the results in this epic series.
Thank you to my beautiful agent @sophiejermynmanagement and @mcgregorcasting for opening this door. And to director Garth Davis for the trust and direction. And to the entire production team for bringing to life such beautiful story. And last but not least, @amandagrillini for the constant support and reading lines for every auditions.

This is very exciting. After the win in India a couple of weeks ago, yesterday our film @proteansshortfilm won the Audience Choice at the @sydneyworldfilmfest
Shot on the Sunshine Coast proudly supported by the @screencollective and produced by @apacbrisbane this film was an intense ride from conception to final cut. I'm very proud of the 4 main actors who had never been performing for screen prior to this film and put an immense effort into their characters.... and it showed! Thank you to @amandagrillini and @carolinesparrowtv for joining in and share their performing experience and kindness. @aesopmedia for the execution and the post production and the entire team for believing we could do this. by @mirkogrillini

Nice news from the other side of the Pacific. The Kink received a honorable mention. Directed by @field4517 (David Field) who also starred in it alongside myself, @tottie_goldsmith @salupton @will Hutchins @verityeast @lee beckhurst
The kink is also official selection at the Vision Splendid film festival in Winton late June.

Yesterday we wrapped ion what I believe is one of the most beautiful and powerful film I had the pleasure to co-produce and direct in my career.
Then it Rained, written and produced by @amyleighraffe (White Bonnet Films), was shot in Woombye on the Sunshine Coast, and proudly supported by the @screencollective
Amy also co-starred with @elliottgiarola from @sophiejermynmanagement and together they delivered some of the most powerful performances I witnessed under my direction to date.
The Sunshine Coast crew involved was such a pleasure to work with. We amalgamated skills and the desire to make the film we’d like to watch. We cried and laughed on set as the evolution of this story touched parts of us all.
Thank you, @hingang and Esther de Schone @aesopmedia , for the cinematic vision, post production and care for details. @amandagrillini of @amanda.jane_art for the gift of ARTmosphere design, @theartofmakeupsociety for the outstanding work of MU and Prosthetic Art and @palmwoods florist for the beautiful hero flower arrangements.
Congratulation everyone for a very successful shoot. by @mirkogrillini
