I completely binged in one night East of Eden on #netflix
This is a Must see. It's a limited series Adaption of John StenBeck's East of Eden and the production consists of seven episodes and was brought to life by showrunner Zoe Kazan. Brilliant

👏 2 other adaptions 1981 a TV mini series but the classic is the film with James Dean that is one of best films back in time of black and white classics.
For this series was filmed entirely in New Zealand and a South Island town #Oamaru over 7 months.

Cast are all incredible what a performance by FlorencePugh all leading actors 👏
It was also great to see Queensland actors in this and some that I've known over my years Mirko Grillini 😀 Brad McMurray 😀 Christopher Sommers 😀 well done guys and @josephzada break out role
Amazing talent who can Steel the screen.

How did director @mirkogrillini and writer @amyleighraffe meet? Well that’s a long story… 😅

10+ years ago they worked in Melbourne as Santa and an Elf (at the same events but don’t have photos together so trust it’s the same dog)

Then last year they reunited when they were both cast in the comedy Tropfest semi-finalist!

Somehow the characters from the first two photos said “we should make a really emotional drama” and here we are 😂

From Woombye to the screen industry.

We’re proud to see APAC’s work and our students featured in the latest @eumundivoice , highlighting @outset_movie - our ambitious screen production bringing together APAC students, local talent and industry professionals.

Directed by @mirkogrillini, OUTSET brings together an incredible local team, including actor @bikergran62 , production and costume design by Amanda Grillini, and support from the @screencollective and @theartofmakeupsociety.

A big thank you to @eileenwalder Walder and the Eumundi Voice for shining a light on the people and creative work helping build the Sunshine Coast screen industry. 🎥✨

OUTSET. I feel so grateful to be apart of this incredible project. Every day in the rehearsal room and every day on set felt so special. There was so much passion that went into this project, watching every department work and put their heart into this was truly such an inspiring experience. I’m so proud of what we created together. See you all in February! 👀🩸

I’ve been back in the studios at @peregianhub for the last couple of weeks, creating some great content with awesome people, that I can’t wait to share!

If you think video content is just limited to boring, white wall, talking head video shot on your phone, you’re really missing out. Video is one of the most engaging ways to connect with your audience online, and the quality of it will be a make-or-break.

Here’s a look at 3 completely different types of content I’ve been involved with at the Hub in the last week - each for a different client, different purpose, but stunning quality...

🎙️ Custom podcast recording setup in the Story Pod
📸 Social media promo for @warreneagles upcoming @fxphd_vfx Davinci Resolve 21 training course in the Wonderpod
🎥 On set for a short film, directed by @mirkogrillini shot by @hingang (in the Wonderpod too!) for @apacbrisbane

I haven’t had as much time in the studio lately, but that doesn’t mean the creativity has stopped. Sometimes inspiration simply finds a different canvas.
I recently wrapped on the incredible short film OUTSET, written and directed by the immensely talented Mirko Grillini, created for his latest graduating cohort at Australian Performing Arts Conservatory (APAC)
This has been the biggest production for APAC so far, with an ensemble cast of 14, each bringing beautifully unique and contrasting characters to life.
For this project, I stepped away from the easel and into the world of costume design, creating each character’s wardrobe from the initial concepts through to custom fittings. It pushed me creatively in ways I hadn’t experienced before, and I absolutely loved every challenge that came with it. It was chaotic, inspiring, challenging... and completely worth it.
Watching each actor embrace their character with such passion and ownership was a privilege, and working alongside an incredibly talented crew, each playing such an important role in bringing this story to life, reminded me why I love being part of the creative industries.
A huge thank you to the Sunshine Coast Screen Collective for supporting local filmmakers and providing such incredible locations and facilities to help bring stories like this to the screen.
Now that filming has wrapped, it’s time to head back into the studio with fresh inspiration, new ideas, and a heart that’s completely recharged. I can’t wait to show you what’s next. 🎨🎬✨
