GOLEK GOLEK IS SELF CARE.

Really. Golek2 has such a negative stigma. We are told we ALWAYSSS need to do something "productive" to be "valuable", "worthy" or "inspirational"... but IMO just like "meditation" and "prayers" golek2 falls between "resting, contemplating, reflecting and taking it easy" for me. We do it for ourselves not for other people.....

I have realized several years ago I felt guilty to golek2 cause society in general always equates that to lazy. So i did it as my "guilty pleasure". Nowadays I know the difference between LAZY and RESTING. And to be honest, I am not lazy at all. Like real talk, kalau i lazy, i wont be able to have the life that I have or achieve all that I have in my line of work.. or even get an income as a self employed person! SO WHY AM I LABELLED LAZY IF I WANNA GOLEK2? Are we not even allowed to "rest"?? Is "rest" ONLY sleeping? It took some reflecting, unlearning and setting some boundaries for me to see "golek2" as a good thing for my mental health and physical health. Because BURNING OUT, due to lack of rest and golek2, is detrimental to my business AND income. I learned that the hard way. SO YEAH IM PRO GOLEK. Nowadays I say no to projects so I can schedule in "do nothing and golek" days to ensure the quality of my work. And guess what, I am actually MORE productive when i've had enough golek time. The trick is to do MINDFUL GOLEKING 🤣

Dear Diary, today I realized I am living the life 25 year old me wished for. Im so glad I listened to myself back then and followed my dreams!!!
