2026 summer well spent!! THANK YOU @doomgong for a crazy denim-licious 30-something days in Europe with 28 shows in 11 countries before I start doctoral studies.

Thank you to @yayayeahmusic for making this possible, @romanusrecords for vinyl and merch ops, and everyone we met along the way and their support.

Europe loves music. I love both.

It is an honor to announce that starting this fall, I will be attending Florida State University under the tutelage of Dr. Alex Jiménez to pursue a PhD in Music Education with emphasis in orchestral conducting.

In addition to my studies at FSU, I will be working with the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras and serve as conductor of its Symphony Orchestra.

I sincerely look forward to dedicating these next three years to great music, research, and work in the Tallahassee area!

Of course, this comes with a bittersweet departure from Louisville and Kentucky - I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in my early professional development, and to those who continue to advocate for and believe in me.

DOOM GONG has been an incredible artistic endeavor shared by 7 (+) people from many musical backgrounds and walks of life. I would not be the same classical/orchestral musician I am today had I not spent the past 2 years performing, recording, (attempting) creating, and experiencing the sound world that can only be described as "denim psych."

This clip is one of my favorite excerpts of DG repertoire, DG-1, taken from our sophomore album release show in October 2023 at @whirlingtiger .

So incredibly grateful to have had the chance to attend the Denver Philharmonic International Conducting Workshop, Concert, and Competition. Thank you so much to the @denverphilorch , Maestri Robert Spano and Lawrence Golan, cellist @eomnomnom , fellow participants and new friends for cultivating a healthy atmosphere for learning and making music. There are many lessons from our time together that I will carry for life.

Congratulations to @gabrielgordonartoflistening for placing runner-up in the competition, and Rebekah O’Brien for winning the opportunity to return next season 🎉 ! I was fortunate to share the conducting of the Elgar Cello Concerto with these two winners and Peter, who took us with him on an incredible journey. I will always remember these moments.

So happy to have made new friends as well as catch up with the old ( @ajcecil64 @_alan_chan ) 😊

I hope to run into the people I met here again some day - it was an honor to have our paths cross.

Today is officially my last day as the sabbatical replacement for Professor Kimcherie Lloyd and lecturer/coordinator of University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra and graduate orchestral conducting seminar. This was a monumental learning opportunity I was gifted this year, which led to very special help from and collaborations with others.

First - thank you, Jason Seber @jasonseber , for sharing your time, energy, and expertise with us during our first concert cycle! We continue to be influenced by your love for music and humanity, and are very grateful for our time together.

Thank you, also, to TAs Christopher @topher_is_here and Missy @vertically_abbreviated for all of your work and care that made this semester a success! Thanks to Owen @davis_0wen and Dan, also, for a fun Halloween Spooktacular.

I am also deeply grateful for the @uoflmusic faculty and staff’s support during this appointment. It was quite the learning curve from beginning to end - I wouldn’t have made it to the other side without their help.

Lastly, THANK YOU to the students of @uoflorchestra and Professor Lloyd. More than when I was technically enrolled in school, I felt most like a “student” when put in a “teacher” position. I will always remember our time together, and the simple lesson that the two roles are not mutually exclusive.

Every day is a good day to be a lifelong student. Onto more realizations in 2024!
