Since 2022, Teleita has been an integral part of our community, beginning her volunteering alongside her mom, Fehi, during Shopping Days and joining our events each year. In 2024, she took on more responsibilities, helping with Artsy Kids and contributing to our latest venture, BeLoved Boutique. As a mentor to our LaunchPad participants, Teleita embodies positivity and creates a safe, welcoming environment for all.

Her commitment to the community inspires those around her. As she prepares for new opportunities after high school, she reflects on her experiences that have shaped her.

Here’s what she shared:

“Overall I have learned to not take things for granted, and that giving back to the community is one of the most important things that one can do in life. This doesn’t only reflect character but sets you up for success later in life. With nursing I will be able to have an open mindset when working with patients and families, knowing that this is a hard time for them. It has also shown me how to eliminate discrimination against individuals based on race, gender, and social class.”
