Joining the registry requires only a simple cheek swab, NO NEEDLES are involved at any point in the registration process. Please note that you will be registering as a potential donor, not donating anything on the day you complete your registration.The cheek swab is used solely to add your information to the registry so you can be considered as a potential donor in the future.

A stem cell transplant [also called a bone marrow transplant] is a medical procedure that replaces damaged or diseased stem cells with healthy ones. It is often used to treat blood cancers (like leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell, aplastic anemia and myeloma) by allowing doctors to use high doses of chemotherapy or radiation to kill cancer cells. 💚 by @mission.marrow

#TransplantToddie We are gearing up for round 3 of my health journey. This time will be a little different as a Double Lung Transplant is a major surgery.

As per my transplant team, I have nothing but green flags thus far but I have a few more tests and providers i have to see before my next visit. The team has been very vocal about their confidence in improving my quality of life. I’m super thankful to the stranger that convinced me to move forward with this decision.

Once I’m on the list, it will take about 4-10 months to get the call. There is a 12 month recovery which includes the first month in the hospital and another 3 months in a rehab facility.

I’m going to keep you guys in the loop every step of the way. Thank you for all of your support this far, I wouldn’t be here without it. I’ve always took pride in giving to others but now it’s finally my time to ask. Please support by donating to the link in bio 💚 by @mission.marrow

Made it though another bronchoscopy after 3 attempts . This time they are ruling out infection they may have found on my CT scan .
