I got laid off in June and when I left this last job. It had me thinking about what’s next, not only for my career but for talents and gifts. 🤍🌟✨

In May, I had privately dealt with burnt out abc work-related anxiety. A toxic workplace (the wrong workplace) will drain you of your time, energy, and talents and gifts.

I dealt with unsupportive management and a toxic boss that tried to sabotage my work, my growth, and mental health. I kept pushing through and a month later I walked away.

Management was emotionally and mentally abusive. You can’t always leave when you want too but thank God I left! 😭🥹🫶🏽

I will never question my worth, my identity, and my work ethic. I put my blood and sweat and tears into my youth and clients.

Not only did I build my role, worksite partnerships, youth, and created a curriculum. I did so much more.

Here’s to a new chapter 🥂

Transparency post ***

I’ve been meaning to post this for the last for the couple of days. Going back to the old me is not optional, the woman I’ve become in this season has been strong, resilience, kind, soft and loving.

This is one of the most vulnerable seasons I’ve had. And instead of extending grace to myself, I was rushing, rethinking my life goals, rushing through a silent season GOD put me in.

In this season,
All I did was pray for peace. I found my purpose but left a toxic work environment and then in January, left my long term ex boyfriend. A relationship that was extremely harmful. This season felt like survival but it’s time to fully live 🌼. Even when I can’t grasp what’s next 🩵🫧🪷.

But I’m one step closer. Here’s to choosing my self for eight months ( no contact) and rewriting my story! 🦋

Strong women aren’t born, they’re created.

Month 3.

Getting laid off in June forced me to deal with perfectionism, high performing anxiety, and revealed the the truth behind my habits.

In march, I remember showing up burned out, tired, and weary. But here are a few lessons I learned:

Feeling burned out points to something deeper in your body that something isn’t working.

Being burned out is not a badge of honor.

People will test you. Fight to get respected not understood 🎯.

Don’t make work your whole personality ‼️

Boundaries are for yourself not other people ‼️

Your work ethic isn’t proof of who you are when boundaries, systems and management aren’t respecting or protecting you.

When you neglect yourself , it will lead to resenting yourself in the end. 🥺‼️

Corporate America was not made to thrive for black women. Detach from labels and make your money. 💕🎯
