I had a wonderful worship experience at @mountararatpittsburghpa today. We experienced high praise from start to finish including the afterglow. Thank you @tlopez2007 for the warm welcome.

If you are reading this post, go watch the online service so that you can hear the modulations on the chorus of It is Well With My Soul. This band is next level!

I am overjoyed! I am a huge fan of Sharif Bey. He is a Pittsburgh native and he has a wonderful show at @thewarholmuseum. Andy Warhol has a huge body of work and artifacts in the museum. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Basquiat and Warhol paintings they collaborated on. I was lucky enough to get he last signed copy of Sharif’s book today. Get here if you can.

I needed new lighting in my home and Antoine Curry came to my rescue. He came alone the first day. I think he figured out I was crazy and he brought reinforcements the second day. Antoine came on time, insisted that all fixtures were removed and replaced with LED lighting. I was living in the dark and didn’t know it. That recessed lighting in my closet is top tier! When he finished the work, he cleaned my closet space and floors better than my housekeeper. I still have more work that needs to be done and I’m so glad he lives so close to me. He is a perfectionist. He is me! When my piano is delivered, I’ll invite him back over and play a few tunes for him.

Thank you Antoine and I appreciate the recommendation Meredith Sisnett.

👀 Look what we spotted in Six Square!

Something new is getting ready to pull up in the district. 🖤

Tater Que Express is bringing its food truck to Six Square, and while they’re not open just yet, we couldn’t resist giving them an early welcome.

We love seeing new businesses and new energy becoming part of the district, and we’re looking forward to seeing what Tater Que Express brings to the neighborhood.

📍 Coming soon to Six Square

Stay tuned for opening details, and in the meantime, help us give Tater Que Express a warm welcome to the district! 👏🏾

Spotted something new in Six Square? Tag us. We just might feature it next. 👀

I absolutely love my nieces! I have one that really believes that “rich auntie” is a thing! @naedanielle wears me out. While we were walking through North Park Center she was counting steps and I was counting my coins. We walked 8 miles Saturday! She kept saying she didn’t own a @Coach bag. Thank you Emmanuel for helping us. I’m so proud of her and all of her accomplishments, I’d gladly do it all over again. Ene (MSW) is a Social Worker and she loves helping others. Thanks Ene for letting me crash at your place and for making my coffee in the morning. Keep going Ene! I love you ❤️

The real MVP was a beautiful soul named Viola @macys in @northparkcenter who took great care of us. We, correction, I purchased so many items for her apartment it was impossible to carry it all to the car. Viola held all of the items we purchased while we continued to shop and rolled everything out to the car when we were finished. That was some serious customer service. Thank you Viola!

In honor of #TBAAL I had to throw some @erykahbadu on this reel!

The Black Academy of Arts and Letters celebrated 50 Years this weekend and the line up was incredible! Founded by extraordinary vision of Curtis King, what began as a bold dream to create a space where Black creativity, culture, scholarship, and excellence could thrive has become a lasting institution and a beacon for generations. Curtis King’s legacy reminds us that when we invest in our stories, our artists, and our cultural institutions, we are not simply preserving history—we are building the future. As we honor 50 years of TBAAL, we celebrate the power of vision, perseverance, and the undeniable impact of Black cultural leadership. My niece Khiana spent her summer at #TBAAL and she absolutely loved it. I’m already looking forward to next year! taken in Fair Park Dallas by @missmcdole

It’s good to take time to celebrate your people. To the staff and volunteers at @wecannow1 your work is necessary and you deserve acknowledgement. We Can Now is an Austin-based grassroots nonprofit dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity through direct outreach, essential resources, and pathways to stable housing. Founded by Antony Jackson, who experienced homelessness himself, the organization emphasizes meeting people where they are with dignity, compassion, and practical assistance. @sixsquareatx welcome are happy to support this work.
