I finally met my book editor @iskewis! I was nervous and anxious about the event, but talked about autism and my book 'Patient A' at @bridgetonpubliclibrary.

I did an exercise where we drew the world from our perspective, and I found my old journal from when I was 12 - my drawing hasn't changed much! The majority drew themselves on the outside. It was nice to know I'm not alone but sad too. Some girls told me they've been said they're 'too much', but I told them they're enough and should hold onto that. I read a part of my book where it turns into a journal. Finishing with ‘let’s be honest if you found a diary you’d at least want a little nosey’ I sold copies to everyone who came! I can’t believe it!

Now, I want to share something personal. The last photo is for my dad, who passed away suddenly on April 6th. He was my biggest supporter and encouraged me to finish my book. I couldn’t have completed it without him. He made promise not to mourn him like I mourn mum and wanted to make him proud. Since the event the waves of grief are intense. Why do people say sorry for your loss? For me a neighbour said ‘I have no words’. Right now facing people is incredibly difficult and still can’t believe it. My tears are making the screen blurry so Dad, I miss you and love you always.

Second frost — it was too cold to capture the first one! I pass this house often and it’s beautiful, but in the dark it looked a little eerie. The last photo was me in motion! 🏃‍♀️

Thermals have come out, along with double gloves, but I still managed to lose one. Oops a daisy!

The weekend has been lovely as I got to see my sister. I love that, with our bond, we can simply do nothing and still have a lovely time. She braided my hair and is a pro at clipping Belle’s nails, so we were actually fairly productive! Also, she gives the BEST hugs.

Lastly, I’ve been working on promoting my book and have connected with two lovely souls, @bookishdogmamakate and the talented @marthasweeneyauthor. 💖

I hadn’t really had the capacity to promote my memoir — partly because of grief, but also because of social media anxiety. Then I came across Kate and Martha, and I’m not quite so scared anymore. 💕

Oh Bambi! Donut back on 🥺

Wednesday was an awful day for this wee guy. Emergency vets again! I was in panic mode, thinking the worst, but it turns out he’s having a flare-up. So, back on medication and the donut is back… for now! He’s already a lot better, so total relief!

If you follow me, you’ll know how much Bambi and Belle mean to me ❤️ Hopefully, he’ll be back on track soon. Will keep you all posted!

Running in the dark — autumn has well and truly crept in!

@myloandrosie on @bbcradio1 are keeping me company, though! A bit longer than usual as @greg_james needed some extra sleep! No shade — 2026 has been rough for us.

I was so delighted for Mylo and Rosie getting the opportunity not only to step in but also did a super job on ‘Yesterday’s Quiz’. Congratulations! 🥳 Also, thank you for the mention. 💕

With Mum’s anniversary coming up and not being able to call Dad to share all the positive things happening, it’s been a rough week.

Neither of them would want me to wallow, so I’m trying my best to take things an hour at a time.

The stronger the grief, the more it shows how much I loved them both with all my heart. That’ll never disappear; it’s just a case of navigating life differently…

This little rascal has been doing much better health-wise, which is a total relief.

However, still wants to dig the entire garden up! Dog-friendly peanut butter in a puzzle ball is a winner!

Both Bambi and Belle have been such a comfort as October is Mum’s anniversary month. Every October, I just feel grief becomes incredibly heavy. Add to that adjusting to life without Dad, Bambi and Belle giving fluffy cuddles and following me around the house makes things a little lighter.
