I just danced on the Miss Volunteer America stage🤩

What a journey it’s been to get here. 1 ankle surgery, 2 hip injuries, 4 long years not being able to dance, 4 more years of relearning how to move in my body again, and a 21 year journey to performing this talent to a song that encourages us all to be resilient even during life’s worst moments. So grateful to have the opportunity to keep doing what I love thanks to the Miss Volunteer America Organization🌟

Thank you @ehchoreographynyc @ejhebron for choreographing this beautiful piece and @neryfrazer jessicajaye.mackinson @balletmemphis for helping to prepare me leading up to this week🤍

Let’s talk fitness!!💪🏻

For years I struggled with binge eating as a coping mechanism. As a result I suffered from many health issues, lack of confidence, and the inability to do what I loved most in the world: dance. I felt like I was unworthy of competing in pageantry.

Many people think the confidence has to come first- but as you can see from these throwback pics, that’s not necessarily the case. I gained the confidence to take control of my health through pageantry and through initiatives like our beautiful @hannahperrigin ‘s #strongnotskinny 💪🏻

I fell in love with a new form of movement, weight lifting, and through the help of amazing people like @kayla.mulhollandfit, I was able to reclaim my health and my confidence⭐️

Tonight I get to showcase my hard work on a national stage! If you want to tune in, visit missamericavolunteer.net at 7PM CST tonight!
