I just danced on the Miss Volunteer America stage🤩

What a journey it’s been to get here. 1 ankle surgery, 2 hip injuries, 4 long years not being able to dance, 4 more years of relearning how to move in my body again, and a 21 year journey to performing this talent to a song that encourages us all to be resilient even during life’s worst moments. So grateful to have the opportunity to keep doing what I love thanks to the Miss Volunteer America Organization🌟

Thank you @ehchoreographynyc @ejhebron for choreographing this beautiful piece and @neryfrazer jessicajaye.mackinson @balletmemphis for helping to prepare me leading up to this week🤍

My first time performing “Ashes,” the full piece🤍

I’ve been holding onto this clip for over a year now. It’s not the best time that I performed this piece, but of the many times that I have, this one was my favorite- right at home on the Miss Mississippi Volunteer stage.

The lyrics, choreography, and community involved in making this piece all came together to create one of my favorite pageant memories. Now that I’m officially “retired” from pageantry I may never perform this on a stage again, but it will have a permanent spot in my heart (and now on my Instagram feed too!) taken in Tupelo, Mississippi by @josienasekos

What an amazing weekend at the @missmsvolunteerpageant 🤍

While it was definitely odd to be cheering everyone on from the audience instead of from the dressing room this time, I loved getting to see my beautiful friends showcase all their hard work on the stage. I couldn’t be more proud⭐️!!

Congratulations to @mattie.grace on a fantastic year as Miss Mississippi Volunteer, it has been so special to watch you thrive🫶🏻

It’s been one week since I returned to work following Miss Volunteer America and more than anything I miss the wonderful people I got to spend pageant week with!🫶🏻

Three months ago I was debating on whether or not to compete in what would likely be my last pageant. I am so incredibly grateful to all the wonderful people that encouraged me to compete and made it possible for me to do so, because otherwise I would not have been able to foster so many wonderful relationships, both old and new🌟

From the amazing staff, volunteers, and production to my fellow queens- every single person was nothing but kind, inspiring, and a joy to spend time with. Pageants are often scrutinized based on stereotypes, but @missvolunteeramericapag has some of the best people you will ever meet! Forever grateful🤍
