It’s Sweetheart Week❤️🌽👑

Our Miss Maryland Sweetheart arrived in Hoopeston yesterday and it is bringing back all the memories!

Last year I had the opportunity to represent Maryland as their sweetheart and it truly changed my life. I had the most wonderful experience and made the absolute best memories! The @nationalsweetheartpageant is truly such a special experience. I am so incredibly grateful to have had that opportunity and it makes me even more excited for our sweetheart, Tabby, to experience it all this week!

I can’t wait to be back in Hoopeston this weekend to cheer on all of the girls, see my sweetheart family, and experience the festival from the other side of things!

FOURTH RUNNER-UP TO MISS MISSISSIPPI VOLUNTEER!!

To be honest with you all, I’ve put off posting because I haven’t been able to adequately put into words just how much this pageant season has meant to me. I’ve cried many tears of joy and I am still floating on cloud-9!

As a little girl, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. One thing I did know, however, was that I was going to dress up as “Miss Mississippi” for career day! For as long as I can remember, I’ve longed to have “Mississippi” draped across my chest.

I’ve dreamed of holding flowers at the end, and at times, that dream almost seemed out of reach. For years, I’ve said countless prayers, hoping to hear my name called into the Top 5. I wanted it so badly, but deep down, I wasn’t always convinced that I was capable.

This years experience—hearing my name called as a semifinalist and then as a finalist—proved that I am capable of more than I ever allowed myself to believe. Seeing my hard work and preparation recognized reminded me that my capabilities were never the question—my confidence was. For the first time in a long time, I truly believed in myself. I walked away not only as Fourth Runner-Up, but with confidence in my abilities, my thoughts, my preparation, and, most importantly, confidence in myself.

Competing within the Miss Volunteer America Organization has taught me more than I could’ve ever anticipated. What once began as a childhood dream has grown into something so much greater—a desire to travel my home state, serve its people, pour into communities, inspire others, and give back more than I’ve ever received.

I have such a deep-rooted love and respect for this organization, the doors it has opened for me, and the people it has allowed me to meet. I am incredibly grateful for all that has been and so excited for all that is still to come.

This post is one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make, and my heart is so heavy.

The @missmsvolunteerpageant has changed my life in ways I could have never imagined. It gave me opportunities to serve, friendships I’ll cherish forever, and lessons that have shaped the woman I am today.

As this chapter comes to a close, it feels like I’m leaving a piece of my heart behind.

I’ve known for the past year that I would be aging out, but no one can truly prepare you for the moment you realize you’ve done something for the last time. And while there is a unique kind of heartbreak to that, there’s also beauty. Beauty in knowing it’s your last chance. Beauty in being fully present, soaking in every conversation, every hug, every walk across the stage, and every moment you know you’ll never get back.

I walked into this past week knowing my life would change in some way. I just didn’t realize how deeply I would feel it. Although saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, I will forever be grateful for the Miss Volunteer organization and for the woman God has used it to help me become.

I still have several S.E.R.V.E. events in the months ahead, and while my local title will soon fade away I will always remember the time that I was Miss Southern Magnolia Volunteer and cherish every moment I wore that title.

Thank you, Miss Volunteer, for every lesson, every memory, every friendship, and every opportunity. While this chapter is ending, I know God’s story for my life is not.

Dear Miss Mississippi Volunteer Pageant,

No words could ever express the life changing magnitude that this organization is… but I will try.

You are everything and more.

3 years i have been blessed to be here and 3 years I have left with a fuller heart.

Year 1 you inspired me with what was possible and showed me that I had a place that i belonged to because of your love and compassion

Year 2 you took what felt impossible and made a way for me to show up because of your eagerness to watch me succeed.

Year 3 in its own way gave me assurance that my growth means something to the people around me in any capacity.

This week I’ve genuinely said words about myself that I didn’t ever feel were possible. That is, that I am confident in myself because of who I am and that I am simply enough. Regardless of the outcome I am seriously proud of myself in every phase of competition because I know where I started. (Videos to come)

Who knew that a pageant could make you feel like that, especially when you’ve never placed a crown on your head.

And this time I saw something greater in myself that I also knew and heard about but never actually felt I’d see its fruits of but i did.

The mission, if I’d won, was to be an example for girls to look towards throughout my reign as MMV, but instead just as Harmony Porter, I can see that it’s already happening. THAT is what gave me peace about this week of competition. THAT is the reason I had no tears of disappointment to shed. And it would not be possible without you @missmsvolunteerpageant .

Thank you for providing a dream that, though few can achieve, many have the opportunity to touch. Your leadership, strength, compassion, drive, and selflessness has given me everything that i need to be the person that walked across the stage throughout the week.

This dramatic letter sounds like the end but it is simply only still the beginning because you have my heart forever.

Let’s talk fitness!!💪🏻

For years I struggled with binge eating as a coping mechanism. As a result I suffered from many health issues, lack of confidence, and the inability to do what I loved most in the world: dance. I felt like I was unworthy of competing in pageantry.

Many people think the confidence has to come first- but as you can see from these throwback pics, that’s not necessarily the case. I gained the confidence to take control of my health through pageantry and through initiatives like our beautiful @hannahperrigin ‘s #strongnotskinny 💪🏻

I fell in love with a new form of movement, weight lifting, and through the help of amazing people like @kayla.mulhollandfit, I was able to reclaim my health and my confidence⭐️
