2025 was my first year operating as a solo freelance designer and creative director after nearly 15 years under the roof of other people’s businesses.

I wish I could say the transition was flawless. The skills transferred for sure, but learning how to dig up work was the real hurdle. Especially jumping into an AI-flooded market, swirling with wild inflation, companies shedding creatives like a dog with mange, and a political climate that valued greed, authoritarianism, and self-righteousness over humanity.

I struggled at first. I questioned the plan, the path, and where the next job would come from. But things turned around, luckily faster than I expected. The key was communication. Reconnecting with people I’d worked with, supported, and built real relationships with over the years. Not just the pretty portfolio or poetic CV (those helped), but the dreaded “networking” was the real catalyst.

This year, while tough at the start, was an eye-opener and honestly a fun one. I had the privilege of working with CPG startups, agencies, legacy brands, skateboard shops, local businesses, and even global brands reshaping their markets.

I don’t know what 2026 holds—it could be amazing, a catastrophe, or anywhere in between, but what I do know is I will be betting on myself again.

Crack a cold one for resistance 🍺

Now more than ever, corporations flood our daily lives with marketing propaganda designed to extract our hard-earned money. These same corporations exploit immigrant labor, here and abroad, to maximize profits, then funnel that money to politicians who demonize and brutalize the very people who came here seeking safety, dignity, and opportunity.

These times can feel paralyzing. But we all have a voice. We can use it through our talents: art, music, writing, design, dance, food. Creativity is not neutral. It is resistance.

I’m going to be spending personal time working on designs that repurpose the very products corporations force into our lives, transforming them into messages that push back against the policies and politicians they choose to fund.

Anheuser-Busch donated $1M to Donald Trump’s 2025 inaugural committee—and $250K to his 2017 inaugural committee.

For the better part of the last 15 years, I’ve poured most of my creative energy into helping build and elevate brands, shaping their visual impact and cultivating an authentic connection with their audiences. It’s been great for my career, but it’s left little room to express, or even dive into the things that truly butter my biscuit.

As this year comes full circle, I’m carving out more time for myself. Time to reflect. Time to explore ideas and make things that aren’t driven by a bottom line. Time to create simply for the joy of making shit, good or bad.

Commercial design often demands perfection, where “good” is non-negotiable yet somehow still subjective. So this space will be my place to experiment and reconnect with creativity on my own terms.

I’ll be sharing the journey here, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. 🫡

Congrats on three years dudes!! @kickstartcoffeeco

Nothing gets the heart racing like a shitload of caffeine pumping through your veins while you’re ripping down the pavement on two wheels. A steel machine, powered by 75 horses rumbling just below your bowels. That’s the kind of energy I’m chasing on the regular.

So when the boyz at @kickstartcoffeeco hit me up to design and illustrate their 3-year anniversary poster, I was all in. I’m not a biker myself, but a bunch of my friends and fam are intrenced in that culture, so capturing it in an authentic way was key. Still, it had to feel unique to the Kickstart crew’s vision.

Eagles. Mountains. Psychedelic lettering. Warm, gritty tones. These were the ingredients. All part of what defines both the culture and the area from which the shop draws its daily customers.

Since it was their third year, I built the design around a triangle, symbolic of the number three, but also a shape with a solid foundation that pushes upward. Stability and momentum: two things every business needs to thrive.

If you ever find yourself in their neck of the woods, or just want to try a killer roast from a small team of talented coffee heads, go show these dudes some love.

Bonus shoutout to @hoodzpahdesign for creating the font Venice Blvd. A really great pairing to compliment the custom lettering for the title.

Summer’s sizzling out here in the north east and @seasonsskateshop just dropped a new set of shirts I designed for you to soak up all those sweat droplets.

This concept was born one dreary upstate winter day while I was mindlessly rolling through the grocery store and saw this dusty old can of sardines that said SEASONS on it and was like I need to do a remix of this for the homies.
