Throwback Thursday — Phoenix, Arizona, 2017.

Out in the Sun Valley with a group of talented Black photographers, chasing light after dark and building memories one frame at a time.

That night, we were shooting around Tempe Town Lake, where the Salt River became a mirror for the city — bridges glowing, lights stretching across the water, cyclists leaving trails through the frame, and the Arizona night holding it all together.

I loved Arizona. The heat, the colors, the skies, the creative energy — it all had a rhythm of its own.

Included here are two images from my Night Lights collection, captured during that season of exploration, motion, reflection, and discovery.

Photography gave us a reason to gather. The night gave us something to remember.

Great SUN Day...

There are moments in life when I can feel the presence of my ancestors strongly.

Not as a fantasy.
Not as performance.
But as memory, instinct, energy, and direction.

My family comes from ancient American roots, and as I’ve grown older, I’ve become more aware of the strength, endurance, wisdom, and spiritual power that traveled through generations before reaching me.
I honor them.
I honor the ones who survived.
The ones who protected family and culture.
The ones who moved with courage, intuition, discipline, and vision long before I was born.
Sometimes I feel them in my creativity.

Sometimes, in my resilience.
Sometimes, in the quiet moments where I know I’m being guided to keep moving forward.
Their blood moves through me.
Their lessons live through me.

Their presence reminds me that I am not disconnected from history — I am an extension of it.

And that is an honor I never take lightly.

Recognizing the Shift

The times are changing.

Not slowly.
Not quietly.

Current Situation. Witnessing something sacred… something timeless.

Attending a Hindu wedding isn’t just watching two people come together—it’s experiencing the union of families, traditions, and generations. From the pre-wedding rituals like Pelli Kuthuru and Pelli Koduku, to the powerful moments under the mandap, every detail carried intention, history, and meaning.

The beauty of it all was in the togetherness… the way families showed up, poured into the couple, and strengthened bonds that will last beyond this moment. The rituals weren’t just symbolic—they were living expressions of love, unity, and legacy.

From the turmeric blessings to the seven sacred steps, it was a reminder that marriage, at its core, is about conpanionship, patience, and purpose.

Respect comes from consistency.

It comes from doing what you said you would do.

It comes from treating people properly — even when nobody is watching.

It comes from mastering your craft and standing on your word.

Real respect isn’t requested.

It’s recognized.

Build a reputation so strong
people know exactly who you are
before you even say a word.
