I was so happy to see Cara’s book come in the mail! Every time I get my hands on a new wine book I immediately flip through it. Scanning the chapters, photos… knowing I can jump in and sit with any page that catches my eye first. I did the same with this beauty (of course a photo of a black cat immediately caught my eye;) “A black cat named Pepe. As in pepper. As in peperino.” 😆 🐈‍⬛

I originally wrote this post and had to edit it because it was too long… there’s so much goodness!) 😅

She has managed to capture so much beauty and warmth, as well as interesting history, science, research… it’s hard to describe its depth, you just need to read it;). I will say, without giving too much away, one of the first sections I randomly sat down and read just made me feel… good. Kind of like the Grinch when he felt all toasty inside… and it made me want to go visit the winery and meet the people and experience the place and learn more…

Such a beautiful book. Lots of love and time and energy put into each page, you can feel it as soon as you open it.

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon-fruit sourced from Rutherford- Rich. Silky. Dreamy. I can’t imagine opening any Napa cab at this price point or higher and liking it more! Delicioso y de ensueño! 🍷🤤

*I read that Bibiana’s Cattleya (her first label) 2024 Chardonnay was given 98 points! The refinement is off-the-charts.” If anyone cared what points I have to give, I’d give all of her Alma de Cattleya wines 98+ too! 🤩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes you just need a little local winery day trip… especially when in Arizona and the temperatures finally dip below 100;).

@page.springs.cellars is nestled in a little desert oasis with Oak Creek in the background. I recommend any wine by the glass (I had the Grenache Blanc- delicious) and taking their olives, fresh bread and almonds down to the lower river deck and sitting at the picnic table (plenty of shade from the pretty trees) closest to the sound of the creek, and just sitting a while… the weather is perfect right now. 😌

Since we were so close to Cottonwood, we had to stop by @merkinvineyards Hilltop Winery. I had been to their other tasting rooms but they have such a great space/pretty view from this hilltop location… (so great, that I did not even get a good photo!? I guess I just was happily taking it in and also happily ignored my phone for most of the day;)! 😅 Loved my glass of Shinola Rosado, a perfectly dry Sangiovese rosé💕🍷

Haven’t done a Caturday post in a long time… and, the world needs more cat and plant photos! #NeverTooMany 😅

Fact: Only one cat is mine… 😅😸🪴🌿🍃🐾

Two sweet ferals have been coming inside for a bit to escape the mean summer heat and they’re getting a little comfortable:).

*If you notice the left ear of the cat on the first photo (that’s “Big Boi”)- the tip of his ear looks cut off- it’s not an injury, but a sign he has been neutered. If you see a cat with one clipped or notched ear tip it is a sign that it has been spayed/neutered and vaccinated through a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program! 🐾💛

Hadn’t been to the Arizona Science Center in ages… fun Power of Poison exhibit! And bonus, easy walking distance to Pizzeria Bianco downtown! 🍕 🍃😋 🥂 (they are so sweet and feed/dote on some resident cats:) 😻 I also don’t know how they are able to keep such a cute herb garden looking so healthy in this summer heat!? 😅🌿🌱 💚* Oh!! And when you go to @pizzeriabianco ask for a side of olive oil!!! It’s a delicacy! 🤤

This trip to Spain was something I truly don’t have the right words for… just love. 😌❤️

Got to spend time with some of my favorite humans. Soul friend Beautimus Jenny I’ve known since we were 15 & 16… her son Tylor (my gorgeous godson;) got married in the Costa Brava… to lovely Patrick! (And, I got to see and hug goddess goddaughter Sammie:)! I think my heart grew 100x that day (no Grinch could beat that!) ✨💚✨Spent time with oldest, dearest friends and made new ones… even met some beautiful souls & sipped amazing Cava from @gramona1881 as well… Bonic!🥂✨💫

So many behind the scenes moments and with people I love and am still on a Spain high… all the real moments that aren’t captured in photos were even more amazing! Best. Trip. Ever. 😆🥰 💃🏻

2025 update: RIP my sweet girl… one of the greatest loves of my life. She chose me when we adopted her and was my forever lap cat. I will miss you forever… thank you for loving me so much. 🐾🤍

Plants! 😍 🪴Took my sister with me to @the_plant_stand_of_arizona today 🪴🌱🌿& picked up a couple of beauties… a giant pothos (which I could not get a good enough photo to do it justice) & spider plant (but I wanted one of everything!!!)! 💚

Our first time visiting- and we picked such a lovely hot and humid day 😅 also when the coffee/food truck was temporarily closed 🫠 … they were so nice and offered us bottled water as we sweated down the isles (at least I did, my sister was fine;) 😆 We shall go back when it’s nice & cool out again because it’s such a cute space- picnic tables, so many plants to browse/buy and really reasonable prices. 🪴💚
