We lived this life privately for four + years.
Now we’re ready to share it.

I’m Chandler. A culinary school graduate, adventure photographer, and travel writer. I traded Michelin Guide kitchens for campfire cooking — you’ll find me grilling by the creek, feeding my family out of a camp kitchen, and eating my way through every country that will have us.

This is my husband Grant and our daughter Sawyer, who is 10, worldschooled, and has been to more countries than most adults we know.

We started in state parks during Covid in 2021. We thought we were just getting outside. Four years later we’re cooking on riverbanks in California, standing under torii gates in Tokyo, and homeschooling through every national park, country, and culture that will have us.
We live in a @gfc_usa truck topper and a 18” @winnebagorvs travel trailer. We are based nowhere and everywhere.

If you’re a brand looking for a family that actually lives this life — we do. Genuinely, fully, every single day.
We’re just getting started.
Stick around. 👇

Hi. I’m Chandler. 👋

At 20 years old, married and pregnant, Grant and I wrote our dream life on a napkin. Then we let the noise of other people’s expectations drown it out — and spent the next 10 years getting lost and then finding our way back to it.

Grant is a traveling occupational therapist, Sawyer is worldschooled, Ranger has never passed a creek without jumping in, and I cook over a fire on cast iron with a Michelin kitchen background.

We’ve been living this life fully and privately — 30+ states, multiple countries, and more national parks than we can count. We’re ready to share it now — not to perform it, but to find our people.

Who else is out there living the life they wrote on a napkin? 👇

Just a mother and daughter—homeschooling, traveling, exploring, knitting, and enjoying the occasional movie-and-face-mask day.
What a privilege to have this as an ordinary day. ✨

A slow week, and I mean that as a compliment. 🍁

Doctor’s appointments, laundry, tidying the trailer, a little fall decorating because the season asked nicely. Nothing worth photographing, all of it worth doing.

And at the end of it, creamy pumpkin pasta and a glass of red, eaten in eighteen feet of home that finally smells like autumn.

Not every week is a mountain range. Some are just this. This is plenty. ❤️‍🔥✨ taken in Corvallis, Oregon by @mitchellpartyof3

Eleven years old today. 🎂

Sawyer is the kind of kid who builds entire worlds—anime marathons, fantasy novels she’s writing herself, a crochet hook or a pencil almost always in her hands, designing things I couldn’t even imagine. She’s spent the last year seriously studying Japanese because she’s decided she’s going to live in Japan someday, and I’ve learned not to bet against her. Pink and black. Riding her Onewheel 🛹. A mind that’s always creating.

But here’s what I’ll brag about most: she loves deeply and makes family out of friends wherever we go. In a life with no fixed address, she plants roots in people. That’s a rarer trait than any of her talents—and she has plenty of those. 💕✨

Eleven years of the best thing we ever made.
Happy birthday, Sawyer. taken in Corvallis, Oregon by @mitchellpartyof3

Right now, home is a farm in the Willamette Valley, and we’re doing it completely off-grid.

Grant’s working a contract at the local hospital, and instead of a parking lot or an RV park, we get to park among the fruit trees and the quiet. Sawyer’s got room to roam while I’ve been picking apples forty feet from where we sleep.

And we’re running the whole thing off the land. Our drinking water comes straight from the creek that runs through the property, filtered through our Sawyer system. Power’s all solar, stored in our EcoFlow batteries. Even the toilet situation is handled, composting, thanks to our Boxio setup. No hookups, no grid, no problem.

This is the part of the life that still surprises me. You follow the work somewhere new, a were gifted a whole farm and everything you need to live on it.

Grateful doesn’t quite cover it, but it’s the word I’ve got.✨

Vanessa taught my kid to fish this weekend.

She owns Oshen Knits and Fibers — the yarn shop — but she and her husband are building something bigger now: Oshen Farm & Charters, out on the water in Astoria. We spent the day on their boat learning how to read it, run it, drop a line, and wait.

Vanessa’s whole thing is threading people through fiber, water, and land — and I didn’t fully understand what that meant until I watched her hand my daughter a rod and a little patience and let the ocean do the rest. It’s all the same to her. The wool, the water, the teaching. All of it connected.

Sawyers is going to grow up around women like Vanessa- capable, fearless, always building and creating. That’s the whole reason we live like this.

Grateful for her and her husband, and the friends they are becoming.

North Cascades National Park. Park 23 of 63.

Unbelievably magical, and cut a little short by wildfire smoke rolling in.

We caught up with old friends, made a few new ones, stood over the impossible blue of Diablo Lake Overlook, and Sawyer earned another Junior Ranger badge. A good haul for a shortened stay.

Camp coffee tastes better. ❤️‍🔥
That’s not romance, it’s fact, and don’t ask me to explain it.

Maybe it’s the cold air. Maybe it’s the banana slug watching me work. Maybe it’s that nobody out here has anywhere to be. Whatever it is, the kitchen version never stood a chance.

And the @vssl tumbler fits our door cupholder, which I need you to understand is a miracle. Nothing fits our door cupholder. Nothing.
