Mile 2655.8
On September 12th 2025 Sandra J Hobart reached the prime age of 54. Coincidentally her youngest child and only son, Mitchell “100 Grand” Hobart reached Canada on his silly little walk the same day.

A fully continuous footpath from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. An improbable task that seemed akin to threading a needle between active fires and constant trail closures.

Just a walking man walking pt.2; Fin

Epilogue:
Finally hanging up the 100 Grand name and going back to “normal life” again sounds amazing. But extra exited to pick it back up one more time in the future.

Huge shoutout to the Buttwater Boys who I was fortunate enough to hike nearly 2000 if not more miles with each of.

The PCT felt so easy in hindsight due to astronomical amounts of fun being had. Day to day though it was far more challenging than expected walking into it.

Cheers to another thru of only happy tears. taken in Pacific Crest Trail by @mitchhobart

A lots gone down in the last 12 months and I blame it all on getting a house with some homies from Maine.

Cheers to renewing for another 12. Hopefully during this lap Jason will clean more.

I’m no longer a traveling healthcare worker. I was told I wasn’t getting renewed so I joined a random neuro surgery team.

In the two weeks following my departure from St. Anthony’s Hospital I tried to keep myself busy so I wouldn’t feel sad about leaving.

I went to a national park. Hiked 5, 14’ers. Read 4 books. Had a birthday. Watched the World Cup finale. Went to countless bars to drown my sorrows. Showered twice in two weeks.

I might have lied about the showers but everything else was true. Having done all of those things, my two weeks are up and I have to face working again tomorrow. At St. Anthony’s Hospital. I wish I died up there on one of those mountains. taken in Colorado by @mitchhobart

A lil bit of summer lately.

It’s a break out year for Larry the marmot and mountain goats everywhere.

For some reason I’ve decided to start walking up hills again even after all the trauma my thrus have caused. I offset the pain with walking every farmers market I can find with Lily. Speaking of Lily, she talks every time I go to read when we are outside. taken in Colorado by @mitchhobart

Another year of celebrating my favorite holiday inside, daydreaming of walking around in the woods unbathed eating cold soaked ramen.

To commemorate Mother Nature’s holiday I’ve decided to to post pictures and b-roll of her best lumps and bumps that I’ve seen throughout the last year

Milan, Bolzano, Verona & Lake Como

Spontaneous winter trip in an attempt to get over the lack of snow in Colorado. The only things I learned are that I truly cannot open doors in Europe as everything is backwards and Lily will never be able to differentiate between a cappuccino and a macchiato.

This winter has been shattered by temps in the 70’s. The ikon pass purchase may have been a mistake.

The blue skies and molten winter temps have forced me to do nothing but read books and reminisce over the past year.

2025 was a year where I actively tried to challenge myself in hopes of hardship and growth. What actually happened made no sense to my tiny pea brain. Everything felt seamless and exponentially easier than expected while providing more growth than I originally wanted?

Cheers to hundreds of new friends all over the world, a new home with my best friends, new hobbies, new love, a constant stream of modelo and the worst ski season in Colorado history. by @mitchhobart

Recently I bought an ikon ski pass. That means it’s officially winter, regardless of the date.

This fall has been extremely rough for me. One I would like to forget. There has been a copious amount of stressful traveling to longed for destinations. I moved into a communal home with some of my best friends from Maine. I’ve learned to hate them all, especially Jason as he uses the kitchen too much. Mother Nature has teased beautiful sunsets and super moons just to have the world go dark by 5pm.

Hopefully the winter time will provide some much needed seratonin. The ikon pass is all I have left to live for. taken in Denver, Colorado by @mitchhobart

265. This number could mean anything. A tenth of the miles I hiked on trail? Sure. The amount of beers I consumed in Washington? I drank more. The amount of friends I made over the past several months? It could be roughly around that many.

However the specific number of 265 is the number of days since I last worked. Here are pictures from my last week on trail to commemorate the end of my retirement from work. I’m no longer a hiker trash vagabond. by @mitchhobart
