R U OK day has become an annual event at MITS and something the students look forward to. A day to check in with each other and themselves and focus on wellbeing. @ruokanyday

Today began with mindfulness with Mish, Healthy Breakfasts with @swisseau, beading and affirmations with @headspace_hawthorn and physical activity with @bluearth_foundation and @essentialmovementsystems

It was an afternoon filled with gratitude and decorating delicious cupcakes!

We were lucky enough to have incredible Australian musician (and nan to Shaylen and Lucas!) @shelliemorrismusic AO visit us in the MITS classroom today. Shellie was very generous with her time - sharing stories, songs and language with our kids. by @mits.tagram

With 38 days to go until the 2026 Nike Melbourne Marathon, Team Kane is training hard for race day.

Across Kane and arete Australia, more than 50 people across our divisions are taking part this year, with runners preparing for the full marathon, half marathon and 10km.

For Team Kane, every kilometre is also an opportunity to support MITS (Melbourne Indigenous Transition School) @mits.tagram.

MITS supports Indigenous students from remote and regional communities as they transition to schooling in Melbourne, providing a culturally safe environment where students can build confidence, continue their education and access new opportunities.

Kane’s relationship with MITS began in 2019 and has grown through our involvement in the delivery of accommodation and teaching facilities, as well as initiatives supporting MITS students and their wider community.

For our runners, the Melbourne Marathon is about more than the finish line.

It is a chance to challenge ourselves, support health and wellbeing, come together as a team and give back to an organisation that means a great deal to Kane.
