@ruok.day is a reminder that connection matters 💛

At EMS, movement has never just been about the physical body. It’s a vehicle for confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, self-awareness, belonging and wellbeing.

Today, alongside @mits.tagram we’re reminded that sometimes the most important thing we can offer another person isn’t an answer.

It’s asking the question.
And sometimes, it’s simply letting someone know they don’t have to carry everything alone.

There are also times when people have loved, supported and cared for someone with everything they had, and still experienced unimaginable loss.

That perspective matters too.

We’re all doing our best with what we know, what we have, and what we’re carrying.

So today, check in with your people.

Ask the question.

Stay for the answer.

And remember that movement, conversation, community and genuine human connection can change more than the body.

They can change the person

With 38 days to go until the 2026 Nike Melbourne Marathon, Team Kane is training hard for race day.

Across Kane and arete Australia, more than 50 people across our divisions are taking part this year, with runners preparing for the full marathon, half marathon and 10km.

For Team Kane, every kilometre is also an opportunity to support MITS (Melbourne Indigenous Transition School) @mits.tagram.

MITS supports Indigenous students from remote and regional communities as they transition to schooling in Melbourne, providing a culturally safe environment where students can build confidence, continue their education and access new opportunities.

Kane’s relationship with MITS began in 2019 and has grown through our involvement in the delivery of accommodation and teaching facilities, as well as initiatives supporting MITS students and their wider community.

For our runners, the Melbourne Marathon is about more than the finish line.

It is a chance to challenge ourselves, support health and wellbeing, come together as a team and give back to an organisation that means a great deal to Kane.

Every kilometre counts. Every donation helps.

Big shoutout to Uncle Robbie Thorpe, Aunty Rieo Ellis, Aunty Denise McGuinness, and Jason Tamiru for coming down to PBS FM to be interviewed by the students.

Stay tuned.. students are making a prerecorded radio segment about their experience with Yalinguth that will air on various community radio stations.

Also a big shoutout to all project partners, facilitators and funders 🙏❤️😊:
