Just a normal mini painter looking for fun projects and trying to get things painted.
Lots of WIP.

John Blanche has always been one of my favourite artists and I had a silly idea that I wanted to try out.

If you like Black Templars maybe this video isn't for you, but I hope it is for someone.

Warhammer and it's Grimdark Aesthetic was influenced so much by the work of John Blanche that without it this hobby may be very different.

What is your favourite Warhammer artwork?

I painted this as a way to test out the @frontierwargaming sable brushes, and I have to say they held up really well. I have been trying them in a bunch of different ways but I really wanted to push them for painting detail. by @mj_art_stuff

I had a silly idea for this month's mini of the month.

Inside you there are two wolves... So surely three can fit inside a space marine?

All painted using the Golden Maple 00 detail brush. Not sponsored but they did send me a discount code if any of you want to try a good sable brush for a surprisingly good price. If you use the code "Matt JZ" you will get an extra 10% off!

New Space Marines 2 chapter just dropped!

Seriously though. When do we get cat marines in the game?
Thanks to @jayhan_lord_of_cats for sending me this model to paint. I had fun with this one. NMM for all the gold. I'm not sure if there is a space marine chapter with this colour scheme apart from maybe Hawk Lords?

This is a silly one but I hope you like it.

Procrastinating a little bit and putting off painting the Orks Nob with some Shorks from @daffmakes3d

They are really fun models and you can be as creative as you feel like with the colour schemes. I may have to do the Tonk next.

Let me know what you think!

Taking a little break from the orks to paint up some Shorks!

I would like to think that this counts and can be considered part of "ShOrktober"

@daffmakes3d was kind enough to send me some of the awesome models from Planet Shark and I really wanted to see if you could print them out on a filament printer instead of a resin one. I wasn't expecting too much but I was really happy with the results!

If you need a break from the grim darkness of the far future from time to time check out their game!

Two new Armageddon Orks finishes today. I think I am currently one behind my plan of getting an ork painted every day in Orctober. Hope you like!

Weird ork fact of the day for Orctober.

When you see an ork with what looks like a topknot, it is actually a "hairy-squig" that has latched on to the orks scalp. Why do they let this happen? Who knows. Status? Ork Fashion? Hopefully this weird part of Warhammer lore hasn't been retcon'd yet.

WIP.

It is always fun to really get into painting something just before you need to go to bed.

A couple models finished today. I'm not sure why but I keep telling myself that the next model will be a "quick one" and then spend ages in it. Not sure how long I will end up spending on the bigger models!

I have been painting Orks the same day for ages and I wanted to try something new which is a little closer to the Wavy Metal style.

This was supposed to be a quick one but I ended up spending quite a while on it.

What do you think?

After quite a long break I am finally back on the Armageddon Orks. One new grot and one new boy finishes today. I am still not sold on the colour scheme as I like how both of these models came out.

My aim is to find a colour scheme that looks good that doesn't take too long per model.

Let me know what you think!

How have you painted your orks?
