🎨 // PAINTING COMPETITION WINNERS

The results are in! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who entered our painting competition with Element Games. There were some incredible entries, and after much deliberation, Jay Postones has chosen his top three:

🥇 **1st Place** goes to the RADAR tank. 'An absolutely phenomenal piece, and an obvious winner' from the moment we saw it. Congratulations to @battleinpink

🥈 **2nd Place** goes to the skeleton, recognised for its 'outstanding painting quality and attention to detail'. Well done to @mj_art_stuff

🥉 **3rd Place** goes to 'guitar boy, a brilliantly themed entry that felt perfectly at home in the world of RADAR'. Congratulations to @mr.boxhands

Congratulations to all three winners, and thanks again to everyone who took part. We loved seeing your creativity and can't wait to do it again. 💜

Day 24, the final day in my #captaincarversminiquest showcase!

Today is a bit of a bonus to be honest. All the minis and stories by this amazing community have been shared over the last 23 days, this was a little extra by me!

When @mj_art_stuff sent me his story to go with his awesome contribution, I couldn't help but feel that a creature tracker and tamer would have an animal companion of some kind!

So I sent Matt a picture of all the critter minis I have, and asked him to choose. He chose this little fella, a #stargrave "guard dog" from @northstarfigs.
I then asked for a paint brief and he chose to go with the box art colours! So here he is!

As always, I created a small story to go with the mini. Swipe through the post to read it.

And finally, I want to once again say a huge, HUGE thank you to all those who took part in my first community project. It turned out to be more work than I anticipated, but I loved every moment of it!

THERE WILL BE ANOTHER!!!

Mini number 13 in my #captaincarversminiquest showcase is Dun Tarvos; created by @mj_art_stuff.

Matt created one of the first kitbashed minis in the project, and he blew everyone in the group away when he shared his WIP's!
Using the @northstarfigs mini I sent as his base, he then used @warhammerofficial parts from a Necromunda Ash wastes nomads kit to create this unique mini.
I love the character he has created, they definitely weren't what I was expecting, but in all the best ways! Check out Duns story by swiping through the post!

So, these are the last heads being shown off before it's all revealed... and we can talk about it... its such a great community project and it's going to be doing some great things too

"I don't really hate Ultramarines lol 😆 ... well, even if i did, i couldn't hate these, i just still like the old memes and jokes." (Daz)

Here is what we've been sent back by @mj_art_stuff and they look absolutely beautiful, cannot wait to show you more.

In the meantime make sure to follow @mj_art_stuff and show some love

Another of my semi-regular looks through my recent shares here on Instagram and an attempt to highlight again just how many awesome Oldhammer projects there are out there at the minute! It’s crazy to think, but just about every year since I’ve been here on Instagram it feels like we’re getting closer to the 90’s again rather than further away with all these excellent paint jobs!

“Across the frozen waste, one scent carries above all others in the howling wind - the smell of fear…”

Continuing my Chaplain series, but this time breaking from the DA for a brief dalliance with the Wolfpack. When I saw the new sculpt, I just couldn’t resist taking a stab at it, and adding a shield for an @mj_art_stuff inspired freehand was just too good of an opportunity to pass up. We can’t ever forget the wolf shirts of a past generation(:

Lots more coming down the pipeline, especially with Inktober fast approaching. Looking forward to sharing more soon(:

Space Marines don’t have wolf shirts, but doesn’t mean they can’t have wolf shields(:

Saw @mj_art_stuff paint a wolf shirt motif on a Space Marine shoulder pad, and instantly knew I had to try something similar on my Wolf Priest. A little conversion later, came out with this(:

Full Wolf Priest reveal coming soon(:

Today i attended @rally_point_games_and_minds
And what a lovely event.

First of all the event itself was just purely magicall. And all the hard work from Simon and his Rally team showed off.

Every single person i got to talk to today, was so warm and welcoming.
And frankly made me feel like i known them forever.
I was absolutely floored by the level of positivity, love and passion that was shining through everyone.

Wish i got a picture with everyone, but i was scared to ask. Next year ill be tougher.

And on that note.

See you next year!!!!

Video to come when i get my behind back to the motherland.

I know you are there! Inspired with @mj_art_stuff and @eavy_mental_ealth i want to try if it works 😂 i’m gonna add some lore to every single reel in that warhammer series!
So let’s go:
The Blood Angels are one of the 20 First Founding Legions of the Space Marines and were originally the IXth Legion before the Second Founding broke the Legiones Astartes up into separate Chapters of 1,000 Space Marines each.

They are well-known across the galaxy for their bloodthirsty nature in battle, and feared for the curse of flawed gene-seed they carry. The Blood Angels are amongst the longest-living of the Adeptus Astartes, with some of the Chapter’s Space Marines having served the Emperor of Mankind for over a thousand standard years.
