Falling in love took me by surprise. I prayed and prayed, wondering if this person was a blessing or just another lesson. As time went by, it was a whirlwind of happiness, sadness, and pain. Despite the signs and God’s messages, I longed for someone like him, so I stayed when I had the chance to leave. My traumas and frustrations were triggered, yet I held on.

One day, I grew weary of the fight and faced the biggest decision of my life. It wasn’t because I hated him; it was because I loved him so deeply. I had to accept that he wasn’t meant for me and that I needed to save myself and find peace.

Letting go was never easy; I thought about it a thousand times. I remembered when Mon’s Vic was still alive, he told us that in times of dilemma, we should go to the chapel he helped build, and our prayers would be answered. I went there, cried my heart out, and prayed fervently. I composed my thoughts and attended mass, seeking a sign from God.

And then, God spoke to me: “Child, you are deeply wounded. Let go.”

I strive to be the best friend you can depend on, cherishing those who respect my time and efforts. Friendship is a love that must be reciprocated, a bond that creates the safest space in our lives. I find joy in taking care of you, cheering you on, and helping you. Nothing makes me prouder than seeing you achieve your goals.

I am genuine and authentic, but when you betray, neglect, or use me, it shatters my trust. In those moments, I may seem as if you no longer exist to me, but deep down, I am deeply hurt. It takes time to forgive, forget, and rebuild what was lost. I never thought I would reach this point of truly understanding what self-love means. It is knowing my worth, walking away from those who hurt me, and prioritizing my mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Most importantly, it means letting go of things I can’t control. It took time, but I finally realized this.

I’ve learned to choose my battles and manage my emotions and reactions to different situations.
