My debut illustrated novel comes out in less than a month, so if you’re a new follower, here’s a little more about it!

Afia in the Land of Wonders is:
-my first book, which I spent the last 12 years writing and illustrating
-a story that I wrote for my twin sister
-a reimagining of Alice in Wonderland
-set in a fantasy world inspired by West African kingdoms
-filled with art! 30 acrylic paintings and 20 pencil drawings
-about 16-year-old Afia, who must chose between staying with her beloved twin sister in a world where she doesn’t belong or journeying into a magical but dangerous world to discover who she is.
-available for pre-order now and will be published by Scholastic on April 15 (Link in my bio)!

Hey everyone! I’ll be exhibiting at the @tustinartwalk in Old Town Tustin this Saturday in the @arvidabookco parking lot and will have copies of my book, prints, originals, and some new Halloween-themed art. Come by from 11am-5pm for this fun, free event and support your local human artists! 🎨🖌️🖼️

This painting was inspired by months of watching my neighborhood squirrels as they conquer their fears and skittishness every day to go after what they want most (food!), represented here by the magical acorn.
