August 23, marks 12 years since my beloved brother Steven — Tebe to me — chose to end his life on the physical plane after a long brave struggle with depression and anxiety.

Someone once reminded me that our stories are part of what lives on. So here’s one of Tebe’s.

Tebe was a healer at heart. If he had food and you didn’t, he gave you his. When I suffered from vertigo for a year after brain surgery, he researched until he found the doctor who finally helped me. When I injured my foot and was told I’d never run again, he found the people who proved otherwise. And when my cat was sick, he worked around the clock with herbs, diet and love.

He was always trying to heal someone — human or animal.

I love this photo of him. In his later years, he looked like Gandhi to me.

As my own spiritual calling comes into focus, I hope he continues to guide me — and make me laugh. He loved Earth, Wind and Fire & sang it off key at the top of his lungs.

12 years later, the love is still here.

Miss u so much, Tebe. ❤️ by @mmanilov

In the meantime, sign up for your local mutual aid group. If you are in the bay area, my spiritual community gives food away every Sunday after service. Let me know if you want to donate by @mmanilov

Gratitude: Coming back from hip surgery to strength has been a hard journey. But these past few weeks in life I am finally feeling strong and out of pain. There is no way I would have gotten here without the skill, dedication, innovative ideas, patience and commitment of @brendanvandyck - Thank you for all the gifts you have brought to this journey, Brendan. I am so grateful. by @mmanilov

Repost from @jvpbayarea

BREAKING: Arrests have started at Senator Padilla’s office in San Francisco. Hundreds of Jews and allies are putting their bodies on the line across California, from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, from Sacramento to San Diego in the largest statewide action of antizionist Jews in California history.

At this moment, the Israeli military is escalating towards a full takeover of Gaza city, which will displace nearly 1 million Palestinians. As Israeli officials announce plans to forcibly transfer hundreds of thousands of Palestinians into a concentration camp, it couldn’t be more clear: never again is now.

☎️☎️☎️ Padilla and Schiff need to hear from their constituents: we see your inaction, and we won’t forget. Link in bio to call your senators. by @mmanilov
