Electric Ghosts live at @the13thflooraustin @obsoletemachines 10/3/2024 --- Such a fun one to play. All the songs are, in fact, because the rhythms vary so much. 📷 @nbrissette . . . . . #obsoletemachines #atx #colors #livemusic #Austin #the13thflooraustin #duo by @mmikehidalgo

I had the privilege last year this time of playing a gig with @giuliamillanta for a Paul McCartney tribute at @one2onebar with some amazing musicians like @erinivey & @michaelfracasso . I also had the pleasure of being backed by a stellar band w/ Josh Flowers, Rick Richards and Jon Sanchez. We'd practiced the song once before this and they absolutely nailed it. Loved playing with them. . . . . . . #Music #LiveMusic #Guitar by @mmikehidalgo

We performed at the Pecan Street Festival on Sunday. Here is our statement. There is a long history of artists who speak truth in times of crisis, wars, conflicts, and controversies. They write songs, they make films, and they take you to a different world with their words and images. Artists are truth-tellers. As musicians, we have our instruments and we have our voices to engage with the world. When our fellow Austin musician voices were shut down on Saturday evening, our voices were too. Our decision to perform on Sunday was a difficult one but we felt it was our duty as artists to channel our energy through peace and let our music speak. We stand with @freeblooandthefreak and @blackillacmusic. No artist should ever feel threatened to express their art and be stripped of their voice. We want to extend our support and love to Lauren Bruno @lesrav1111, who booked the lineup for the Pecan Street Festival and for everything she has done to support artists in our community in Austin. She has been a leader and voice for our community @prosperxo and as she puts it, “When artists prosper, culture thrives”. Thank you, Damascan Daydreams Photos @eric_a_booth by @mmikehidalgo

"An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times." -Nina Simone On Saturday at Pecan Street Fest, our fellow musicians @freeblooandthefreak were shut down for reflecting the times at Hill Country Galleria. Ironically enough, being shut down after stating support for Palestine is a reflection of the times at the highest levels of the game. Just ask @macklemore I will always stand with those who speak up for the right side of history. I stand with my friend @lesrav1111, who always keeps the prosperity of artists at the center of her work with @prosperxo Our community is far better with her in it. And I will always stand with those who have nothing and are not even allowed to enjoy the nothing they have in peace. Free, free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸 Shout out to @aaronrowe__ for dropping the Sheeran tour and standing on principal with Macklemore. 📸 Eyad Baba/AFP via Getty Images by @mmikehidalgo
