When we asked “How can we help our 811 Retailers get more foot traffic?” this is what we came up with 🎈|📦

Sometimes you need a push. Sometimes you need a box. Sometimes you need a pretend inflatable tube person (thanks, @mdierqueen).

Don’t wait for a push. Or the pretend inflatable tube person. Come on in and shop with our retailers!

🍵 J’s Sweet Tea (@jssweettea): locally made, cinnamon-infused sweet tea
🧁 Blissfully Divine (@blissfullydivine.llc): handcrafted small-batch desserts, including mini cheesecakes
👀 Plus more coming soon…

J’s Sweet Tea is officially OPEN! 🍑🥤 Thank you to everyone who came out and poured into the Grand Opening at the 811 Retail Incubator. This is what it looks like when we let people try. Come grab a bottle or 10 at 811 E 31st St! 🧡

PHKC would be nothing without... you 🧡

It rained (literally), and you came anyway.

We tried to get everybody in the frame, but the room was too ✨ full ✨ of good people! We tagged everyone we could, including some we know we missed!

To our alumni who came back for another month of A Seat at the Table, to everyone who made it into the frame, and to everyone who didn’t: thank you for stepping out in the rain to be here. Your presence was a gift.

A special 🧡 to Mr. James Bryant (@universaltemple) for leading a conversation that reminded us taking care of our business starts with taking care of ourselves.

A special 🧡 to Ms. Shelia Johnson (a Cohort #1 alum!) with @gangstagoodieskitchen for keeping us (well) fed and the room warm.

NOVEMBER = new guest speaker | new alumni caterer | same great table

Go where the wind takes you 🌬

Today it took us around the neighborhood to visit some of our friends, all within a quick walk of 811 (inside: 📍@jssweettea + 📍@blissfullydivine.llc)

📍 1: @thedaiquiridistrict
📍 2: @goodkarmacoffee_
📍 3: @populuxekc
📍 4: @thefixkc / @buildtrybe
📍 5: @kittyscafekc

We hit as many stops as we could without @mdierqueen throwing up from all the spinning 😵😂😵‍💫

Make a day of it. Start here at 811, and follow the wind 💨

Second Alumni dinner in the books! A special shoutout to @mmm_schultz14 and @mdierqueen for pulling it all together! Chef @gangstagoodieskitchen for providing such a good meal for us, and @universaltemple for leading us in a thoughtful discussion on addressing our mental health. A seat at the table matters! Be honest… you were rooting for the box 👀

Now, let’s talk about you.

You’ve been doing the pop-ups, you’re building the following, and you’re ready for more.

Our open pods here at 811 Retail are your next step toward brick and mortar, right alongside:

📍@jssweettea
📍@blissfullydivine.llc.

Feels like… 811 ☀️

Kansas City’s first retail incubator: local makers, one roof, and a very good boy at the end 🐶 (we’re floof-friendly)

A seat at the table 🍽️ First alumni dinner in the books — nothing but good food, great company, and even better conversation. Big thanks to @gnocchidokeykc for the flavor and @ladonna.tresses for the blessing over it all. This is just the beginning. The next one will be even better. pov: your best friend marries her best friend, and you spend the weekend with your other best friend, her best friend, and gym ❤️ (crush), 🪩’ing, 💃🏻’ing and 🍷’ing.

pov’s to the pov: gym crush’s first Iowa trip, 95°+ heat, and a @hardees reunion.

hidden pov’s: 10/10 moments too good to stop and photograph, happy cry at, and giggle to.
