Christina Ruf / Electric Chello, Electronics
Moritz Morast / Modular Synthesizer

Christina Ruf works in tonal and formative dimensions on and through her instrument, that only on reflection suggest classical playing. Rather, through her use of a 6-string electric cello, various effect pedals and electronics to influence, manipulate and expand the form and sound, she manipulates and extends, giving it a unique expression.

Moritz Morast is an musician and artist currently residing in Vienna, Austria. In his works he explores non-linear musical systems through improvisational immediacy and playful spontanity, unraveling their idiosyncrasies and self-organizing properties.
He is interested in the artifacts, overtones, and hidden structures of sounds that are revaled when subjected to high gain distortion and feeback processes.
He works solo, aswell as in different formations, ranging from free improvisation, extreme metal, and avant-rock, to experimental electronics.

After extensively using the Behringer Neutron for 8 years, it was time for an upgrade. After getting a beautiful case from @casefromlake_eurorackcase, and researching the right modules for my feedback centric approach to sound synthesis, my first eurorack case is ready to shred 🔥🔥🔥 here is a patch study of using a phaser (that was lent to my by @fabianlanzmaier) + delay as the main sources of sound inside entagled feedback loop. There is so much more to explore here, looking fotward to the journey thats ahead! by @mmmorast

Another big milestone for the ELAK Sound Projection Lab, part of the @aesr_lab research project:
The design of our loudspeaker enclosures for @faitalpro 4FE32 drivers has arrived at a final result. We are starting the prints of 256 enclosures from PETG for indoor use and 32 enclosures from Greentec Pro for mobile use.
The speakers will be powered by @innosonix LP2 amps. by @mmmorast

Wanted to build the famous Jaap Vink Ringmodulated Delay patch in #puredata but ended up messing around with this 😮 It's really fascinating how easy you can get chaotic behavior by just connecting a few modules like envelope followers, delays and rindmodulators #pd #experimentalmusic #patching #noisemusic #computermusic by @mmmorast

After a longer hiatus i am back with hosting noise shows in vienna!!

Next week (23.10): einbaumöbel
HARPY (US) + TANIA FUCHS (DE/AT)

Harpy is the collaboration of cult musical/performance artists Gyna Bootleg and Pippi Zornoza. Harpy lends their atmospheric sonic musings and manic vocals to a multi-layered aggression that is both deeply haunted and utterly relentless.
https://harpyprovidence.bandcamp.com
Tania Fuchs has haunted the nonconformist underworld for more than a decade with intense live-performances and DJ-sets. Abandoning the moniker Abu Gabi and switching to their name Tania Fuchs, their music is more personal and daring than ever, breaking boundaries between club-music, noise, singer-songwriter and their cursed poetry.https://linktr.ee/taniafuchs by @mmmorast

Ahoi! We are Moritz, Stefan, Sandro and Angélica – and together we form the crew of a new collective and cultural space at Hernalser Hauptstraße 29 called Koje 🛥️

For the last eleven years this space was run by our friends of @setzkasten.wien and they will stay as active as ever. Verein Setzkasten will just move its intermedia activities to their new harbour over at modul (literally next door: Hernalser Hauptstraße 31) and externally.

For now, we are working on a website for you to stay informed about our activities, which will include conventional, experimental and challenging forms of concerts, workshops, film screenings, listening sessions, a small distro for physical music and so on. Set sail for a sustainable DIY culture in Vienna!
