SAVE THE DATE
Public Presentation: Saturday, 16 August, 1 pm

Kunsthaus Urhof20
Wr. Neustädterstraße 12, 2733 Grünbach am Schneeberg

Even if you can’t make it to Montage Camp this year, take the chance and join us for the public presentation at the end of the week.

Everyone who has been involved throughout the festival is invited to share insights into their work and process. Last year, we had a fulminant program over several hours and across different locations. The pictures show moments from last year’s presentation. One special highlight was the collaboration with the local church, where Sandro Nicolussi, Jakob Schauer, and Stefan Szabo presented musical pieces on and with the organ.

You can easily reach the location by train(one hour from Vienna) The train station is only a five-minute walk from the house.

SØUND
Open infrastructures - Camp 2026

In addition to the workshop program, we are building several infrastructures and open playgrounds to connect and overlap different artistic explorations.

The Sound structure will be open each night to plug, set and wire your sound output to the whole mix of outputs and explore the possibilities of improvisation and real-time composition collectively. There are many different ways to approach improvisation. In the past, we have explored formats such as conducting, working with shared topics, associations or emotions, live scoring to film or visuals, genre-based prompts, passing sounds between performers, call and response, tuning circles, and many more. We can share a few concepts each night, but contributions and new proposals are always welcome.

For the sessions, all media and materials are invited: text, voice, synths, bodies, dance, movement, objects, sculpture, materials, lasers, light, code, scent, taste, thought and beyond.

Technical Details
A 6-channel sound system, several patchbays, submixers, and a central digital mixer allow us to connect individual, solo, and group setups in many different constellations. We provide basic equipment such as cables, adapters, tables, and submixers. Assistance with setup, wiring, and sound checks will be available throughout the week. If you have multiple outputs, we recommend bringing your own mixer. During the day the sound infrastructure will remain open for working on your own projects.

The pictures shows dome impressions from last year’s program: the main research hall, workshop “Rapid Song Prototyping” by Jens Vetter @jns_vttr and “Microtonal Listening & Collective Soundmaking” by Rojin Sharafi @rojinsharafi

Check out our program this year together with:

Christina Ruf / Electric Chello, Electronics
Moritz Morast / Modular Synthesizer

Christina Ruf works in tonal and formative dimensions on and through her instrument, that only on reflection suggest classical playing. Rather, through her use of a 6-string electric cello, various effect pedals and electronics to influence, manipulate and expand the form and sound, she manipulates and extends, giving it a unique expression.

Moritz Morast is an musician and artist currently residing in Vienna, Austria. In his works he explores non-linear musical systems through improvisational immediacy and playful spontanity, unraveling their idiosyncrasies and self-organizing properties.
He is interested in the artifacts, overtones, and hidden structures of sounds that are revaled when subjected to high gain distortion and feeback processes.
He works solo, aswell as in different formations, ranging from free improvisation, extreme metal, and avant-rock, to experimental electronics.
