Congratulations Dr. Rina Sanghavi @rsanghavi_27 for receiving the @gohealio X @scrubs.n.heels Women of the Year Disruptive Innovator Award 🏆
This award goes to a woman who is making a positive impact in the field of GI through intentional leadership, innovative work and scientific advancements. With positive disruption, she is inspiring and empowering the next leaders in medicine.

Dr Sanghavi is a Professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric gastroenterologist @utswpediatricgastroenterology and Director of the Neurogastroenterology and GI motility at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She has established and directed programs that care for the complex childhood digestive disorders. Her compassionate care and innovative research earned her the Clinical Excellence Award at UTSW.
In addition, she is continuously working to better physician engagement and wellbeing. She was recently appointed as co-chair of the Epic National Physician Wellbeing Steering Board where she will help improve the EMR’s efficiency and hopefully reduce clinician burnout.

She holds multiple leadership positions locally and nationally, including President of the Medical Dental Staff, Chair of the Faculty Compensation Committee and Chair of the Pediatric Business strategy group at UTSW. Nationally, she is the chair of the Women in Medicine Committee and Secretary Treasurer for @naspghan

Dr Sanghavi has published extensively on gender equity in medicine and was awarded the Scrubs and Heels Break the Glass Ceiling Award for her transformative work on pay equity and transparency at UTSW and is the Co-Chair of the 2027 Scrubs & Heels Leadership Summit. She has been a phenomenal Friendtor and Mentor to many Women in GI, and we know she will continue to positively impact the lives of her patients, their families and the physicians who cares for them, and to elevate the field of pediatric GI and medicine ! by @mn_gimd

Big shoes to fill. Big ideas ahead. And a committee I’m incredibly proud to lead! ✨

Honored to step into the role of Chair of the @amcollegegastro Training Committee, following remarkable years of leadership by Bilal and Stephanie.

ACG has given me so much over the years, especially mentors and sponsors who have opened doors, believed in me, and championed me along the way. To now have the opportunity to give back is incredibly meaningful.

Thank you to ACG leadership for trusting me with what I consider one of the crown jewels of ACG’s committees. And what an incredible group of colleagues I get to work alongside!

Grateful for the trust. Energized by the possibilities. And ready for this next chapter! ✨

Excited to virtually join colleagues in Riyadh to talk about something I care deeply about - how we train the next generation of gastroenterologists.

What makes this especially meaningful is that I spent a few years of my early childhood in Riyadh while my dad worked at King Faisal Specialist Hospital. I certainly couldn’t have imagined then that years later, my own career in medicine and education would create a connection back to that part of my life.

Grateful for my first opportunity to contribute to GI education internationally, and excited for what comes next. 🌎🇸🇦

Scope-A-Cabana YEAR ONE 🌴🏆 and what a night.

50+ attendees.
4 fellowship teams.
A lot of scopes.
A little trash talk. 😏
And fellows who absolutely left it all on the scope.

Thank you @cookmedsurg & @flgastrosociety for bringing us together for competition, connection, and a ridiculously fun night.

And congratulations UF Health on taking home the first-ever 🏆.

Enjoy it. We’ll be coming for it next year. 😎

Pretty sure the faculty had just as much fun (maybe more 👀) than the fellows at the @asgeendoscopy 2nd & 3rd Year Fellows Course! 😂

Came to teach… left with:
✨ A new text group + new friends
✨ GI tips & tricks I’m absolutely taking home
✨ Financial pearls
✨ High-yield hands-on stations
✨ My own personal ergonomics assessment - apparently I have some work to do 😅
✨ Lots of laughs with some truly wonderful people

One of my favorite parts of being faculty is realizing that you never stop being a learner. The best meetings are the ones where everyone leaves knowing a little more than when they arrived.

Such a fun weekend of teaching, learning, connecting, and sharing. 💙

And that’s a wrap on Updates in Foregut 2026! 💙

193 attendees. An incredible group of speakers, moderators, trainees, APPs, physicians, surgeons, and GI colleagues - all spending a Saturday together thinking, questioning, debating, and sharing perspectives on how we can better care for our foregut patients.

So grateful to everyone who traveled, left their families, and gave us their time and expertise.

To our sponsors - thank you for believing in and supporting this initiative. And to our incredible AdventHealth team who worked for months behind the scenes to make today happen: this day was yours too.

Proud of what we are building 💙. Grateful for this community.

And yes… the conference made it to closing remarks. The shoes did not. 😂👠

Alaska, Disney-style. 🏔️🚢✨

Disconnected in the best possible way. Endless mountains, glaciers and some of the most beautiful scenery we’ve ever seen… mixed with hot chocolate, cookies, Mickey everywhere, 9 AM crafts, movies, and dessert after basically every meal. And so much 🍦 😊

A little adventure. A lot of Disney magic. And two boys who reminded us that everything is more exciting when you’re seeing it for the first time.

Traveling with them and watching their world get a little bigger with every trip will never get old. 🤍

Until the next adventure… ✈️🌎 by @mn_gimd

My favorite kind of Friday.

Watching one group of fellows become more independent while welcoming another to their first Endoscopy Bootcamp.

Education is always a team sport, and we’re lucky to have faculty and industry partners who show up for our fellows every single time. @olympusamericas @bostonsci @cookmedsurg #erbe by @mn_gimd

The most memorable patients are rarely the straightforward ones.

They’re the ones who keep you thinking long after clinic ends.

The patient with reflux despite every medication.
The patient with dysphagia and a normal endoscopy.
The patient whose symptoms don’t fit neatly into a guideline.

Those cases remind us that great care isn’t just about knowing the evidence, it’s about asking better questions, collaborating across specialties, and learning from one another.

That’s the vision behind Updates in Foregut 2026.

We’re bringing together an incredible multidisciplinary faculty to share practical approaches, evolving evidence, and real-world insights that you can take back to your patients on Monday morning.

Whether you’re a gastroenterologist, surgeon, APP, fellow, resident, or simply passionate about foregut disease, we’d love to have you join us.

The true measure of a fellowship class isn’t what they take from a program.

It’s what they leave behind.

Our graduating fellows leave behind a stronger program, a lasting legacy, and countless memories with the patients, faculty, staff, and fellow trainees whose lives they touched along the way.

Thank you for the chapter you wrote.
