it's my birthday month! and i wanna see a buncha movies on da big boy screen!!! i plan on attending all of these showings at some of my fave cinemas round town (because why the hell not), so if you're free for any of em, i'd very much love if you were to tag along – snacks! laughs! beers! tears! camaraderie! communal escapism! and even if ya can't/don't, more for me!!! i'ma run this gauntlet either way!

the Academy has multiple showings of their runs, so those dates are flexible, but Wednesdays are dirt cheap if you can swing em. and of special note is Cinemagic's Tarkovsky series all month which i made sure to nab advance tix for, cuz there ain't no way in heck i missin dat (slow, austere, deeply existential) ish!!!

whether you can or not, i love ya either way... but HMU!!!

no pride. no patriotism.
this is data. these are facts. — these were lives.

samples from intrepid reporting c/o @airwars_en + pcpsr.org + countless independent verified sources on the ground, stretching back decades of imperialist collateral, up until this spring.

none of this is new. none of this should be normal. by @mnchls

yesterday's bday roundup and my defacto annual grid-worthy proof that i indeed still exist and still indulge in mild retail therapy, now with a third of a century of inexperience under the (widening) belt—:

—surprise Misrach finds, @markpanamerican revisits, bucket-list/pipe-dream wanderlusting b/w/o western 🇺🇿, pizza overdosage (not pictured), the warmth of new companionship (pda tba?), accidental wine elitism, and the celebration of the dearly departed [#markhollis] by @mnchls

e:o:t:y: LP ⁄ EP ⁄ track selects:::::
scattershot snapshots, where the gaps are glaring and may be filled in due time, despite ‘due time’ being ever the finite resource,
and despite most of my energy being devoted to the past

(but i’m not making another half dozen slides for all that pre-24 shit, christ—suffice to say keeping up w/ contemp music is exhausting—history's wellspring never runs dry)

p.s.

and so...
we press onward,
for what choice do we have
but to press onward?
and try to light each other's paths
as bright as we can?
and be there for one another

retail therapeutics for my 32nd annual jaunt in the ole skinbag, including some Portuguese esotérica + 🇨🇦 ambient-dub rarities on wax, as well as my favorite from Queen Kate. not pictured: the ice cream i inhaled, the nap i took, the squirrel i ran over and cried about. thx for the well wishes yesterday. #markhollisforever by @mnchls
