A collection of pieces that are on a permanent display at Tate Modern.
Switching from being in the jungle that tends to eat everything at fast forward to a place that seems to dwell in the amnesia of timelessness with reverence for preservation feels strangely soothing.

Tate Modern, displaying an exclusive exhibition on some of Frida Kahlo’s works, exploring the influence she has had on the art world at large, and the explosive phenomena of the mass-market merchandise “Fridamania”
It’s my very first time seeing any of her pieces in person, and I have to say, I was unexpectedly and deeply moved. Her paintings are alive and breathing, with intricate and mesmerizing details.

(Slides 17, 18, 19 & 20 aren’t her works)

"There is an innate tendency in the Universe, within Gaia, for self-organized systems... to share rhythms. It's a universal phenomenon, as foundational, as chemistry. "
- Stephen Harrod Buhner
.
"Every cell pulses as it respires. A pulsing body moves with pulsing steps through a world of pulsing tides and pulsing seasons, a world that pulses between day and night, hot and cold, in a Universe that collapses in on itself and expands out from itself in an eternal rhythm."

River estuaries are probably some of my most favorite places to go to, brimming with so much wildlife and sounds (slide 4, for all the bird sounds). I can spend hours sitting still and watching.
Besides the almost unspoiled, raw beauty, caution is a must, as some well-known and rather large predators that look like floating dry logs might be traversing the mangroves, lurking in the waters...

Once upon a time... There was a man, who lived in the deep forests of Ruch Coast land, all by himself. He was once part of a, more or less, 'normal' life. He was an orphaned child who exceeded in his studies and graduated from university at the age of 19 with a degree in psychology. In the land where people loved to center their lives around making money, he made so much money, all the money he wanted, and then some more, and he retired at the age of thirty and decided to find a new home in the Rich Coast land..
He bought so much land, that nobody could compare to his posesions, but he had a different vision.
His vision was so pure. He turned the land into a reserve, a safe sanctuary for all the wild animals and plants that filled those forests. He loved the land so much that he never made the decision to bring electricity to his house. He came to know that he didn't want to disturb the living world of his natural surroundings by imposing an invasive presence. He never even had a refrigerator for all the many years while he lived in those mountains. Some say he had been there for 36 years, and some say he had been there for much longer, maybe even lifetimes.
He succeeded to raise his son in the jungle as a single parent, reading to him 485 titles of classical authors and teaching him physics by one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the Earth.
And as life asked from him, he became a hermit. And a poet. And a lover of the stars. And a forest whisperer, listening deeply to the stories of the forest.
Nobody knows if this story is really true or not.
I am not sure if I dreamt of it or if it really happened. I have some records to show, but so much of it can never be told. I vaguely remember him saying that he is the poorest rich man in the world. And that he had some turmeric root for breakfast, just before he welcomed us so warmly in his hidden jungle abode that is more often visited by monkeys and coatis than humans alike.
And that's my story, the way I know it happened. The way it was partially told to me by a resident coati who ate all the bananas in the house while we were out and about exploring the land.

"The poem is not the world.
It isn't even the first page of the world.

But the poem wants to flower, like a flower.
It knows that much.

It wants to open itself,
like the door of a little temple,
so that you might step inside and be cooled and refreshed,
and less yourself than part of everything. "
(Mary Oliver, Devotions)

Showing a bit of the process of making a vibrant and delicious chia pudding- one of my all-time favorite breakfasts.
Starting off with fresh ingredients, including the homemade coconut milk, guarantees a yummy and nutritious foundation.
Dragon fruit for those lush magenta colors.
My fruits of choice that I really love mixing with the flavors and textures of chia and coconut milk, in any sort of combinations, are:
papaya, blueberries, strawberries, uchuva, mango, banana, goji berries, cream of coconut (blended coconut flesh with a bit of water), and shredded cacao paste.
There's always so much room to experiment and improvise with combinations and flavors, though.
What works for me might be slightly different from what works for others.
Not everyday we'll have all the same ingredients available, too.
It's great when what we consume could also be used on our skin.
Fruits and their vibrant rainbow colors add so much fun and joy to eating.
