Meet up at War Paint Trail Head @ South Mountain, Ahwatukee side.
Be prepared:
➕use the RR before heading the trailhead (no RR)
➕have at least 2 liters on you for the workout.
➕all pace is welcome, sign in with Harold to track your progress. Give aways after certain amount of sessions attended.
➕Learn something about hills, socialize with others.

Navajo runner @haroldbennally rolls into historic Jerome looking strong. Self-supported with no crew or pacers past the halfway mark and running on minimal sleep, he’s still all smiles and moving with patience and intention, saving something in the tank for what’s still ahead.

➕Most of my days I miss having to look and ask my late father what should I do next, how do I do this, my Dad had all the answers. The man would stop all operations to help someone out from helping a kid put his chain on his bike so he isn’t pushing it through the streets to helping others with vehicle maintenance. Today I ask my soul what I should do. “What do you see out there you should do to share who you are? You been to many races and seen so many of the same things done. Do it your way you feel is special.”
➕So many friends, family, strangers to thank for what we come together for just ONE weekend to take time away from the world to join my world I keep close to my heart.
➕ @canyon_x_tours @blackstreakcanyontours THANK YOU for allowing us with open heart to share your operations, land with all of us to helping Moccasin Running to give back to community. Thank you to Navajo Tribal Parks, the Navajo Nation.

Thank you for supporting and the many youth runners in the community is greatly appreciate your support! Moccasin Running dropped off remaining @guenergylabs with the head coach of Page Sand Devils Cross Country as we continue supporting them on their plans and training.
➕ My family ❤️ my sisters helping since I showed up preparing equipment with me hearing my struggles and hurdles as we get challenges done one by one. @sweet0672 🙏🏽 The rest of my family, my Mother, sister, nieces & nephews showing up helping out.

✨ canyon x half marathon ✨
.
it’s been over a year since my last race, and i couldn’t have asked for a better way to return to this sport that i love so dearly.
.
no set goals. no PRs. just vibes and being surrounded by the most amazing community a gal could ask for in the most stunning desert landscapes on diné bikéyah.
.
i started the run with my family & friends, ran with friends almost the entire time, stopped for slot canyon side quests, and caught up with more friends on the course and at aid stations. we smiled and laughed and cheered each other on, keeping fun at the forefront of this super sandy romp.
.
i came into this race with a clear understanding that i’m still not 100% recovered, and my hamstring was quick to remind me of this around mile 12. still, this was my longest run in a year, and on a technical course to boot.
.
feeling extra grateful for the community i’ve surrounded myself with — for the friends who ran with me, the people who continue to show up, and those who i finally got to meet in person.

ahéhee to @haroldbennally & @moccasinrunning for another memorable year. i’m so proud of you and what you’ve created here on our homelands.

What a magical and whirlwind of a day! Huge shout out to @moccasinrunning for hosting an amazing race and to @sal.vatore_palmero for encouraging me to do my first 5K race! Mountain Sheep canyon was the perfect amount of challenge and fun!

Running 3 miles didn’t seem like enough so @raisin_kain , Sal, and I decided to add an extra 2 miles onto our day by playing tourist! Took in the views from above at Horseshoe Bend and I’m determined for my next visit to the bend to be down inside the canyon!

Went for an excursion over Navajo Bridge and were shocked to discover a small family of California Condors (super endangered) also call it home!

Topped the day off with an adventure into @antelope.canyon.x we had a great tour guide and got a sneak peak into the 1/2 marathon course that Sal ran today!

BOTH Registration has been reopened and as soon as we get the permit completed we will close registration for sure.
We don’t want to exceed what is on our permits guidelines agreement. Everyone has to be covered from our start line volunteers to everyone on the course running or volunteering.
Thank you for understanding and register if you haven’t!
Necklace’s and shirts are in the making! A lot of time I do behind the scenes to get the events ready!

The Northern Flicker. The feathers used in ceremonies my grandfather uses to help others and myself included to heal. Hearing and feeling of where to specifically peck to survive. The flicker is our focal point in our event in April. We run to heal, rebirth our body for growth, to continue our lives in good. by @moccasinrunning
