Q3 just closed. Your books are accurate, your filings are done, and that's exactly the moment most founders stop looking at the numbers until next quarter.

That's the gap. Compliance ends at the close: the historical record is confirmed, correct, filed. Governance starts there. The real question isn't whether Q3 was accurate. It's what Q3 tells you about the next 90 days, whether the hire you're planning still pencils out, whether the cash position supports the expansion you've been sitting on, whether anything in this quarter's numbers should change what you do in Q4.

Most CPA relationships stop at the finish line. We treat the close as the starting point.

If your Q3 numbers just landed and you're not sure what they mean for your next move, DM "STRUCTURE" and let's find out before Q4 is already underway.

This morning, I’m giving myself a little quiet before the noise of the day. A little prayer. A little space to remember that I can be grateful, scared, and still moving forward.

If your business is growing and your mind hasn’t stopped racing, take a breath with me. You don’t have to solve the whole future before breakfast. 🤍

I see you friend! Let’s do this together 🧡 taken in Scottsdale, Arizona by @mod.ventures

For a long time, I thought success meant quietly keeping my head down, solving problems, and building the business. I didn't realize that sharing the hard, uncomfortable truths of the founder journey was actually where the real impact lives.

Writing my chapter for @thesixfigurechicks wasn't about giving polished guru advice. It was about sharing the real, unvarnished stories from 20+ years in the CEO chair. The mistakes, the bottlenecks, and the lessons learned while building true operational freedom.

Our stories are taking over Times Square, but more importantly, this book was written for every woman founder who knows she was meant for something bigger than just surviving her workload.

$5M business running on $500k in real margin isn't rare. It's just unexamined.

It's never one bad decision that does it. It's five small ones nobody's tracking at the same time: a hire that wasn't fully costed, an invoice sitting at 90 days, a lease modeled on hope instead of liquidity, operating costs that crept up a little every quarter. Each one looks minor in isolation. None of them show up as a single alarming number. Together, they're a six-figure gap that's been sitting there the whole time.

That's what makes it invisible. Nothing about it looks like a crisis. Revenue's healthy, the business is growing, and the bank account just quietly isn't reflecting it. By the time it's obvious, it's usually been happening for a year or more.

We've sat across from founders at exactly this revenue band, pulled the numbers apart, and found the leak in a single conversation, usually somewhere they'd already stopped looking.

Curious where yours might be? DM "STRUCTURE" and we'll take a look.

Building a seven-figure business is one thing. Giving yourself permission to stand fully in the spotlight and celebrate how far you’ve come? That’s usually the harder part.

When you spend years managing all the operations behind your company, it’s easy to stay hidden behind the daily fire drills and operational noise. But true leadership isn’t just about managing the numbers. It’s about owning your story and inspiring the next wave of founders to build with clarity and freedom.

I’m so honored to share my journey alongside these incredible women in the @thesixfigurechicks book and seeing our stories taken to Times Square is a reminder that what we build deserves to be seen.

If you’re ready to step out from behind the scenes of your own business, comment “FOUNDER” below and we will send you a copy to get yours!

You don't need a single employee or office in a state to owe that state taxes. You just need enough sales or transactions there, and most founders don't find out until months after they've already crossed the line.

This is multi-state tax nexus, and it's one of the quietest risks in the $5M–$20M bracket. Revenue grows, the business expands into new territory to chase it, and nobody checks the tax exposure before the decision is made. By the time a state sends notice, the growth already happened. So does the bill.

It's not dramatic in the moment. It's a founder saying yes to a new market, a CPA filing what already occurred, and a liability quietly compounding in the background until it surfaces as a retroactive, six-figure problem instead of a modeled, avoidable one.

This is exactly the kind of decision that should get checked before you sign, not after you get the notice. If you're expanding into new territory, DM "STRUCTURE" and let's look at your exposure before it becomes expensive.

People hesitate on fractional CFO advisory for one real reason: they don't know what they're actually signing up for. So here's exactly what the first 30 days look like.

It starts with the Financial Health Alignment Call, a 15-minute diagnostic, not a sales pitch, where we show you where the gap actually is before you commit to anything. Week one, we get inside your real numbers: books, cash position, AR, payroll structure, no assumptions. Week two, you get an honest picture of where the business is strong and where it's quietly exposed. Week three, we build the actual framework: forecasting, reporting cadence, the recurring questions we'll be answering together every month. By week four, you're making your first real decision with a model behind it, not gut instinct.

Nothing about this is mysterious, and it's not supposed to be. You should know exactly what you're getting before you're thirty days in, not find out along the way.

Curious what your first 30 days would actually look like? DM "CLARITY" and let's map it out.

Four signs you've outgrown basic bookkeeping, and none of them mean you did anything wrong.

Your month-end reports are consistently late, not occasionally, every month. Your job costs don't add up, so you can't actually say which projects or clients are profitable. When your bank has a question, it takes days to get them an answer, and that delay costs you leverage exactly when you need it most. And even when the numbers are technically there, they're incomplete: recorded, but not usable for an actual decision.

Bookkeeping was built to record what happened. It was never built to give you controls, accuracy, or speed at the level a growing business actually needs. That's not a bookkeeping failure. It's a sign the business has outgrown the role.

An outsourced controller closes exactly that gap: accurate books, a real close process, and answers you can give your bank the same day, without the cost of a full-time hire.

Recognize more than one of these? DM "STRUCTURE" and let's talk about what's actually missing.

I’ve been a CEO for 20+ years. Here’s what I’m still embarrassingly bad at:

Waiting patiently when something could’ve been done yesterday.

Pretending I don’t have an opinion. I do. Usually immediately.

Following a process I created after deciding the process is stupid.

Delegating without having thoughts about how it gets done.

Sitting through a 45-minute conversation when I knew the answer at minute six.

Remembering that “I just had an idea” does NOT mean “this is now our #1 priority.”

Keeping Slack on my phone. Deleted it. Growth. 😂

Remembering my team cannot read my mind.

And probably my biggest one…

Wanting a reasonable amount out of life.

I want the business AND the freedom.
The money AND the time.
The ambition AND afternoons with my grandbabies.
The next big idea AND six uninterrupted hours with a fantasy novel.

I want to build something that matters without missing the ordinary moments that make life matter.

I want the big wins, the full calendar, and the occasional Tuesday afternoon when nobody needs anything from me.

After 20+ years, I’m still a work in progress.

Still learning that success isn’t just about how much I can carry. It’s also knowing when to put something down and be fully present with the people I love.

Turns out, you don’t have to have it all figured out to build something really freaking good.

And you don’t have to sacrifice your whole life to prove you deserve it.

Ok, it’s your turn to roast yourself. What are you still bad at even though you’ve been successful? taken in Scottsdale, Arizona by @mod.ventures

What does a fractional CFO actually cost? Somewhere between $3,000 and $12,000 a month, depending on scope, or $200 to $500 an hour if you're structuring it that way.

Compare that to a full-time CFO: $250,000+ in salary alone, before benefits, bonus, and payroll taxes push the real number well past that. For a $5M–$20M business, that gap is the entire reason the fractional model exists. You're not getting a smaller version of CFO-level thinking. You're getting the same strategic leadership, sized to what your business actually needs right now instead of what a full-time org chart demands.

Is it worth it? Depends on what "worth it" is measured against. If the alternative is another year of major decisions made on gut instinct, the real cost isn't the retainer. It's what keeps happening without one: missed cash flow problems, decisions made too late, opportunities nobody had the bandwidth to catch.

Want to know what this actually looks like for your business? DM "CLARITY" and let's talk numbers.
