com.unity Highlights Ep.7 — Indigenous neo-soul and R&B artist, LOV.

LOV (@lovxofficial) is a force of resilience, rhythm, and reinvention. Hailing from Treaty 6 Territory, this rising artist transforms personal trials into soulful affirmations of strength and independence. With a sound rooted in UK-inspired soul and guided by a deep sense of purpose, LOV’s music is both healing and unapologetically empowering.

LOV is not just making music – she’s making a statement, exploring identity, motherhood, womanhood, and matriarchal strength. And this is only the beginning.

Yes Prime Minister @markjcarney. Canadians are with you in your decision to end the negotiations. “Last-minute changes in the U.S. proposed terms were unfair, uneconomic and called into question the reliability of any deal.” Canadians may be nice but we’re certainly not pushovers.

In the final hours of negotiations, the U.S. tried to include restrictions on Canada's ability to strike trade deals with other countries. "Unacceptable," you said. Well, of course.

“We’ve recognized from the start that America has changed….We recognize that sometimes, its signature is written in pencil.”

“We cannot accept what they offered and we will not give what they asked,” you added. “We were not prepared to compromise Canada’s sovereignty or undermine our key industries.”

Yes Prime Minister. “We got attacked.” Canadians stand proudly with you. Time to corral the “middle-powers” against this endless tyranny.

com.unity Highlights Ep.4 — Fashion designer, Project Runway Canada winner, Leeland Mitchell, fuses his Chinese and Scottish roots to bring the fun back to fashion.

On the Project Runway Canada finale, which aired on Crave this past January, costume designer Leeland Mitchell was in complete shock that he had won. “…when she said my name, I was shook...What!?”

“A few years ago, I was hired to make an outfit for Avril Lavigne, and I did such an incredible job overnight that she hired me as her costume designer for a couple of years. I’ve worked for Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Kim Petras. I made gloves for Ariana Grande.”

Mitchell plans to go even bigger, to bring joy through his fashion and hopefully make some even bigger moves to inspire other people to do the same. He’s the epitome of what MODECANADAROCKS is all about, uniting our unique heritage and differences into one big, bold and beautiful Canada.

And that was com.unity!

Anytime anyone asks what my dream is, I always say it’s to be @thetracymoore or the women on @thesocialctv. @modecanadarocks let me throw my hat in the show host ring, and while I have years of podcasting experience, this live interview series was different. It was live. I had to deliver for a producer. I had a team supporting me. I had a stylist, image consultants and of course a BOB (that my mom called bobette). This experience was not without its curveballs and hurdles but it was an experience I had been begging the universe to send my way.

I want to profusely thank Len of @delectantofficial for trusting me as the host. Thank you to @stephaniepollard_scott and @memoryun_snap for keeping this machine chugging along. Thank you to @onix.stylist for the vibrant style, @torontodesignersmarket for supplying most looks, @monoxidestyle for most jewellery, @starchildmelly and @flowhaircare for BOBette, and to every single guest who made this show possible for 10 weeks straight! We filmed from Toronto, Fredericton, Montreal and more, with guests joining from Italy, New York, on planes and right in our own back yard. Success takes a village - it takes a community - and I am thank for my com(m)unity 💞

Happy PRIDE TORONTO! Happy Pride Canada!

“Founded in 1981, Pride Toronto continues a legacy that is deeply intertwined with the rich, progressive history of Toronto’s queer community. From a small gathering of dedicated activists fighting for their right to love and be seen, to clashes with the government and police, to the vibrant celebration we know today, Pride has been a long time in the making.”
