What a special and amazing day with Abigail and Harrison. It was a truly magical wedding and our family was so thrilled for these wonderful kids. 10/10/2020 was their dream and the pandemic didn’t stop them and thanks to the wonderful people at the Claremont, this was one of the best days and an incredible wedding. The State Theatre is a gem and it was so great to celebrate the Golden Age of Hollywood fundraiser for Modesto’s historic theatre. Made it back from Lisbon just in time and loved getting glitzed up with my family and friends. Thanks to Mani and Jas Grewal for opening amazing home and thanks to all of our fellow guest that love this theatre. Wonderful that Harrison is serving on the Board of this special place. Since 1934, this is Modesto’s piece of the glamour of old Hollywood and we are proud to preserve it for the next generation. taken in The State Theatre of Modesto by @modestochris

Becky and I had a great week of wandering and work in Lisbon with the GCCA, and now are speeding home to Modesto, via short connection at Frankfurt and SFO. It is much easier connecting back to the USA, than connecting into the EU. Hopefully the EES system runs smoother soon. Grab a day-cap and some sleep and back at it in Modesto soon and be with family. Missed those grandkids.

Last day in Lisbon and we were turned on to the most beautiful restaurant, Rocco, in the hills above the Cais de Sodre waterfront. We caught it before the evening service and wow, one of the best ever. Service was relaxed and impeccable, the sommelier paired some great local Portuguese reds and bubbly. As much as I love the local Lisbon food, the pasta with butter and truffle served in a pecorino cheese wheel was the best. With a table-side tiramisu it was a nice, slow and delicious time. Coolest stairs down to the restroom was beautiful too. Perfect ending before we head pack to pack our bags. It was a beautiful week of work and wandering and we loved just roaming Lisbon.

After many hours of GCCA board meetings, it was wonderful to go as a group to the Marques de Fronteira Palace. It was a stunning estate, still with the family living there. Huge grounds, ponds, gardens and staircases. As the evening went on, the clouds came in and we had an exciting night, dining in and out of the rain and made this night so memorable. We enjoyed dinner with our Canadian colleagues friends and talked about what great allies and business partners we are and how much we have in common. taken in Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira by @modestochris

So honored to be a part of the planning and strategy for the Global Cold Chain Alliance and our partner Foundation. Yes, in case you wondered, there is a tiki bar in Lisbon. The Bora Bora was perfect. Since 1982, this places has served the traditional Polynesian drinks, including those created in California by Trader Vic and Donn the Beachcomber. The Mai Tai was tasty, but customized from the original, with a dry ice presentation. Becky had a Scorpion and then we shared a Husband Killer. Yes, I lived to tell about it. Today was a hilly day, cruising the Alfama area. This was our favorite place, enjoying the historic trollies climbing up the narrow streets, sitting and meeting other travelers in cafes sipping sangria. The chorizo and the traditional bacalhau com natas where so tasty and every little turn had something new, and the views were amazing up in this part of town that survived the earthquake near the Castle. You know we would find an amazing rooftop bar. Best of all, once we discovered this nh collection Liberdade place, we found that they make an amazing and legit 1944 Mai Tai. The bartenders did not know the Trader Vic’s story, but they made the drink perfectly. We enjoyed an awesome view of Lisbon. #lisboa taken in NH Collection Lisboa Liberdade by @modestochris
