We just forgot. And the Harlem vintage is entering innn yall! Can you imagine this gorgeous timeless silk bridal gown

For real though, before modest fashion became a billion-dollar industry, women were wearing long skirts, oversized tailoring, high necklines, long sleeves, layers and beautiful clothes that actually covered them. I love that @modifythrift we get to bring out real vintage pieces, alongside beautul contemporary styles.

But honestly my big tip for new designers is to look back at styles from the 60s, 70s, 80s there’s so much of that I feel will be making a come back in this new age of modest fashion.

@culturecon day 1 was such a great experience. It was amazing seeing many of y’all there.

The bag scene was insane. Black women love vintage designer. It was so fun seeing similar bags we’ve had in store.

We had so much fun at Gracie Mansion @graciemansionconservancy today. Thank you for celebrating our shared African heritage and for including our small business at this event @modifythrift. Imagine two generations of Harlem business owners. Alhamdulilah.

From the African couture, to plenty business owners, educators, media creators, the art, and even the Ethiopian coffee beans we got sent home with. It was all so lovely.
