Halloween in the cottage 2026

The end finally came for my dear Maisie. She was 19 going on 20. Last Friday I knew it was time. Last week she was not happy any more. I could not keep her comfortable. She did not care about eating. She did eat a McDonalds hamburger patty her last morning. I had been spoon feeding her for years. First to keep her from eating too much and then to make sure she was eating enough. I had been getting water in her mouth for a year with a large syringe. She had dementia so wouldn’t think to drink. Still we had many good days till I knew it was time. My only regret is that I did not get to have her those first eleven years of her life. But feel very lucky I got the rest. Oh how I will always love her. 💗 by @modvintagelife

Easter decor will stay up for the month of April. I am just not ready for Easter to be over. It’s my favorite. I added baby geese to the mix this year.

Still Christmas here. I layed low this Christmas. I was just tired. Didn’t even get much of my stuff out. Hopefully next year I’ll get it all out. Hope everyone has a nice New Year! by @modvintagelife

The climbing rose gifted me by a friend here on Instagram made the long journey from Michigan to Oklahoma two years ago this July. It is an heirloom from Lorie’s family to my garden. As you see it managed the journey just fine!

Ah my climbing rose on the front of my house is in full bloom. It looks like this only for a couple of weeks in May. That makes it all the more special. Type of rose is a Seven Sisters Rose.

My one peony bloomed! The rains did not deter it. And yes it smells as good as it looks.

Easter mantle 2025 - I found this precious goose back in the winter at Homegoods. I could not resist. I usually have my moss bunny up here but this year it’s all about Gertrude Goose.
