So grateful for the first Queer Cinema Sunday event!
We had a full house in our self-organized cinema, and we received feedbacks from many of you that the programme of films left you inspired and empowered to create as well, that felt very special!
Thanks to sliding scale donations for entrance, drinks sale and to your enthusiasm for cakes and Manaqeesh, we were able to gather enough money to pay 50€ screening fee to each of the 7 filmmakers ❤️‍🔥

We would love to hear from you! Your feedbacks on the event, your wild dreams and crazy ideas for future screenings?

+ Stay tuned for the launch of our open call for films very soon! taken in Berlin, Germany by @moesabbah

👽 Strange, amusing, dark, luminous, provocative, divine, hellish—in a word, queer as fuck! Coming from below, from above, from another underground or celestial world, from another time—past, present, and future—the Time Traveler, the Queen of Anger, and Madame Collapse graced us with one or more surprise visits throughout the festival. Slay! 🧚🏽

⚡️Performances by Mohamad Moe Sabbah

« The Queen of Anger» on 29.09.
« Madame Collapse» on 03.10.
and somewhere in between «The Time Teller»

Queen of Anger
From the fiery valley of anger, she comes
With grace and charm, she walks
With poise and firmness, she talks
Be aware of her temper; she can burn you to dust.

The Time Teller
The Time Teller Returns
Here to hypnotize you
Here to invite you on. ajourney
Here to remind you that the only way to go forward is revolt.

Madame Collapse
Coming back
A reincarnated form
She reminds and announces
„وعايزنا نرجع زي زمان“
From the watery depths of the stagnant valleys
Shimmery, shiny, distorted and crushed
Stuck in an in-between
„قول للزمان“
Charging her motors, she waits
Awaken, she swings and walks
A prophecy, she brings
„ارجع يا زمان“

📍 Ballhaus Ost in Berlin

QUEER CINEMA SUNDAY & NETWORKING @ Karpfenteichstr 13
🏳️‍⚧️4pm-10pm 🏳️‍⚧️

Join us for our first QUEER CINEMA SUNDAY which puts marginalized queer & trans* political imaginations front and center.

Film screenings as assemblies to connect, share much needed collective visions and political strategies: we are curating an internationalist programme of queer and trans filmmakers and performers who explore film as a political and activist tool. The full programme will be announced in the next days.

Come early for a skillshare and some bodywork, plot & network with the queer filmmaking community in Berlin and stay for food, drinks and chats around the fire. A perfect September Sunday in Karpfenteich :))

Skillshare and screening take place inside, and if weather allows there will be discussions and networking around the fireplace afterwards.

Donation based. Suggested donation: 5-15€ BUT nobody is turned away for lack of funds. Funds will be distributed to the filmmakers.
We will make some Manaqeesh, Stockbrot and cakes and there will be a small bar.
(and the rumors are true, there will be kittens ;) taken in Berlin, Germany by @moesabbah
