La calma camina conmigo,
despacio,
contando los pasos que no piso.

Se me arrima a la oreja
y me sostiene el esqueleto,
como si los huesos fueran cuerdas tensadas.

Yo la aprieto en la mano,
y ella se vuelve cuchillo.
Me abre la piel de la palma,
y de ahí mana
la sangre del olvido,
la sangre negra de la culpa.

De pronto brota agua de ninguna parte,
fuentes que saltan al vacío,
ríos que pasaron una vez y ya no volverán.

El camino se ofrece limpio,
pero exige al primero que ame
que se atreva también a huir,
con la boca todavía llena del sabor.

Porque el valor llama a las hormigas.
Y ellas suben desde la tierra,
suben ordenadas y pacientes,
y van royendo.
