The North Korean Workers' Party Headquarters was built by the Workers' Party of North Korea to oversee Cheorwon and its surrounding areas, with the objectives of consolidating communist dictatorship and exerting control over the local population. During its construction, the North Korean regime forcibly extracted labor and funds from the local residents. Once completed, the building was also used to detain individuals who opposed communism. The building was destroyed following the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950; the shell marks still visible on its exterior walls bear witness to the intensity of the conflict at that time. As a result of the Korean War, Cheorwon was incorporated into the territory of the Republic of Korea. Consequently, this former North Korean facilityโ€”one of the few such structures remaining in the Southโ€”has been designated as a Registered Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Korea (No. 22). ๐Ÿ“ท Sony A7CR #์ฒ ์› #๊ฐ•์›๋„ #korea #SonyAlpha #A7CR by @mok1kim
