Yesterday was truly special.

We had our end of year lunch, and moments like that always remind me why this journey is worth it. We’re a lean, mostly remote team, so anytime we get everyone together in one space, it feels extra meaningful. The laughter, the honest conversations, the shared stories, it was one of those moments you wish you could pause.

This year came with its fair share of highs and lows. There were wins we’re proud of and challenges that tested us. But through all of it, there was growth. Growth in the work, growth in the people, and growth in the kind of culture we’re building. Listening to the team speak about what this company means to them genuinely moved me. It reminded me that we’re building more than a business, we’re building something that matters.

I also couldn’t have done any of this without my partner @ada.0lisa
I’m hopeful and thankful, and I pray next year is even better than this one.

Happy holidays 🤍✨ by @molokwu_peter

I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, for the quiet wins, the tough lessons, the people who stayed, and the strength I didn’t know I had.

This new year of my life, I’m choosing clarity, peace, and doors that lead me forward. I thank God for life, for grace, and for the chance to keep growing.

Here’s to a new chapter that feels lighter, wiser, and truer to who I’m becoming.

The last three months have been some of the toughest months of my life.

I honestly still can’t believe I’m writing this. There are some things you never imagine having to experience, and losing my mother is one of them. Even now, there are moments when it doesn’t feel real. I find myself thinking about her, wanting to tell her something, or expecting that somehow I’ll hear her voice again, and then I remember.

A lot has happened in the last few months, and I’ve had to deal with emotions I never thought I would have to carry. There have been days when I’ve felt strong and days when I’ve felt completely broken. I’ve tried to keep going, keep working, keep showing up, and act like everything is fine, but the truth is, it hasn’t been.

I’m not okay.

And I don’t think I need to pretend that I am.

Losing your mother changes something in you. It’s not just the loss itself, it’s the reality of knowing that someone who has been part of your life for as long as you can remember is suddenly no longer here. There are so many things I wish I could say, so many conversations I wish we could still have, and so many moments I wish I could share with her.

I know I’ll be okay eventually. I have to believe that. I know the pain will become easier to carry, even if it never completely goes away. I’ll learn to live with the memories, the silence, the things left unsaid, and all the moments when I wish she was here.

For now, I’m just taking life one day at a time. I’m giving myself permission to grieve, to not have all the answers, to have difficult days, and to simply take things as they come.

Mummy, I wish I had more time with you. I wish things had turned out differently. But I’m grateful for the life you gave me, the love you showed me, and the memories I will carry for the rest of my life.

I miss you. I love you. And I hope wherever you are, you know that.

Rest in peace, Mummy. 🤍 taken in Lagos, Nigeria by @molokwu_peter

People see the highlights of building a business in Nigeria, the launches, the partnerships, the content, the growth.

What they don’t always see is the reality behind it. The constant adapting. Solving problems in real time. Staying optimistic even when things feel uncertain. Carrying responsibilities bigger than yourself while still trying to build something meaningful.

I’ve realized that building in Nigeria shapes you differently. It forces you to become more resilient, more resourceful, and honestly more human.

This post isn’t to complain. It’s to acknowledge the experience so many founders, creatives, and business owners quietly live through every day.

And despite everything, people still show up. People still create. People still dream. That will always deserve respect. 🇳🇬

Don’t give up. Not when it’s quiet. Not when it feels slow. Not when no one is clapping yet.

Every real win is built in moments like this, when you choose to keep going anyway. by @molokwu_peter
