Who gets to grade AI?

If we want AI we can trust, how we measure it matters just as much as how we build it. And there is no universal “best” model. The answer changes with the task, language, dialect, cost and context.

At aixplain we believe that nobody should grade their own exam. Benchmarking should be independent, transparent and grounded in the problem you’re actually trying to solve.

Benchmark the problem, and choose the model that fits- honestly, clearly, effectively.

Would you choose an AI jury?

A throwback to our Chief Ethics Advisor, @monamhamdy, at @aspendigitalprogram last year, on the “Shared Futures: The Divine and the Digital” panel with @karaswisher

Most people say no. We sense a machine cannot carry mercy, context, or the understanding of what it means to be human.

But the other side is real too: a machine can be less swayed by the biases we each bring. As Mona puts it: “Therein is the double-edged sword of bias.”
This is the instinct we build around. AI can hold the process. But judgment always stays with you. by @monamhamdy

Pope Leo XIV's Magnifica Humanitas placed AI at the center of Catholic Social Doctrine for the first time in history.

I just finished writing a constitution for a companion intelligence — the culmination of three years researching human death and dying in the age of digital immortality. Reading the encyclical, I was struck by how much of what we'd been reaching toward, His Holiness has named.

My work calls it the Five Pillars of the Fifth Industrial Revolution: Community, Creativity, Vitality, Story, Soul. He called for shared responsibility and the most universal act of care — showing up, being present, and doing our part.

Life is a precious anomaly. The most rare and wondrous substance in the whole of the universe. Everything we build should begin there.

Our Chief Ethics Advisor Dr. @monamhamdy joined @malak_fouad_official on @what.i.did.next for a conversation about AI policy. A thoughtful look at where the rules are heading and what responsible AI looks like in practice.

” We say things like, AI’s gonna get really good. All the jobs are going to be gone, and you’re going to get something like a universal basic income, some kind of allowance for being human. That’s a policy. That is not a framework or a vision or a philosophy about what we want this technology to do.”

It was fun to chat with Kara, the Rabbi and Father P about useful human values of faith, community and tradition in the digital age. These cultural anchors help us navigate uncertainty and remember who we are and what we are made of, when all the language models in the world nudge us to forget. ✨ Go outside today, dear Human, perform a ritual of gratitude. Give thanks for a single grace that reaches you. Today, find one small thing-- and love it. by @monamhamdy

There are people all over this glorious little planet of ours who throw open their doors to gather us and remind us that life’s real joy is learning and growing—together. Because of them, wherever we go, we remember how connected and how beautiful our great big human family truly is. Grateful for the leadership and support of my friend Kunal, who is one of those types of people. by @monamhamdy

Incredible energy at Money2020 Riyadh this year. Grateful I found time to connect with remarkable women driving innovation in finance and technology. Their vision reflects the region’s immense potential. Something about the energy in the air these days. I love seeing the Arab World believe in it itself. It inspires us all to keep moving forward and raising the bar. taken in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by @monamhamdy
